Is / has anyone using this - California PopTop Cover
It's been raining cats and dogs, here in N. Florida and I'm getting tons of standing water in my Bird. My seals all look good so I'm not sure where it's coming in. I really need to take it to a top shop, maybe thing needs an adjustment, I don't know, but money's tight... till then, I was thinking about getting on of there covers, but for what it is, it damn expensive. I just wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with it, and get some thoughts on it, before I drop coin.
BTW, if anyone has one for sale, please let me know

My experience with car covers in the rain is to never do it again, and that was with a minivan! A convertible would be a huge negative IMO. They don't 'breathe', they literally stink, cause mold, and where the heck do you put a soaking wet car cover?? As I said, that was with a hard top vehicle. I couldn't imagine a worse nightmare than to have car cover on a cloth top during the steamy summer Florida rain season. Save your $$$.

Standing water is no good, that's for sure. I don't like credit cards and going into debt but if a professional shop can do the job for you for a few hundred dollars, it may be worth consideration. You don't want the car ruined while saving $$. If you need an entire new top, that's going to get pricey. I hope that isn't the situation. Good luck!

Put the top down and look on either side in the well between the interior and fender right near where the seat belt mechanism is. There's a drain hole in there that gets plugged up and the water backs up until it overflows into the rear seat area. Just stick your finger in the hole to unplug it. It's easily reachable without tools. If there's no standing water, you can clearly see it.

My car sits outside. I use a California Car Cover. It's water proof. Body is bone dry after a rain. Interior does no smell. Its the original canvas. I would use windshield urathane on your seam problem. Clamp it together 4 24hrs. and u should be good to go.
