Pine tree sap on top

What's the best way to remove sap off my top.

I had a tough time removing a drop of pine sap from my top many years ago. Alcohol is always my first choice applied with a Q-tip. Using a name brand bug/tar remover would be my second choice (again with a Q-tip to avoid the fabric as much as possible).. A last resort would be turpenoid, (turpentine type product). I succeeded in getting the sap off using a combination of the three but it left a small discoloration on my taupe top. It eventually disappeared over the years. I don't even know where it was anymore. I'm sure a professional detailer would be successful but now $$$ is involved so that is up to you. It's not easy with just one spot so I hope you don't have many.

I have 3 spots, all on the driver side. I just did the top about a year and a half ago. Pisses me off.

So that goo gone stuff is bullshit?

^^^ I don't know about that product but if you have it already, try it with that same Q-tip method. Maybe it's better???

If it's fairly fresh you can heat it up with a head gun and scrub it off. If it's dried on there pretty good try turtle wax bug and tar remover.

Not yet, I've been sick as a dog and been dealing with doctors and MRIs. It hasn't left me with much energy or care, at the moment.

ICE tree sap to get it off

FREEZE it. Stick ice cubes on it. One its hard you kind crack it off. Not totally but then its only a little bit to take off with chemicals. I have 4 converts and my lost is all pine trees that drip all the time. I try to keep them covered but its a pain to dive home late and cover up so once in a while I leave one and---yep. I get it each time. This ice method and a plastic credit card works great on paint, and ice and a razor blade for glass.
