I'm not sure about adjusting anything. Make sure the rubber parts/grommets are all still attached and also make sure that the bracket that holds the lid down is not loose. Starting points anyway.

I looked at it last night. Its those plastic bushings in the pivot points at each riveted pin. Wonder if anyone has had any luck figuring out how to repair without drilling out the rivets which would be a major pain. Once they are worn they rattle like crazy going down the road.

Follow-up: OK, I have no idea if this will assist you but for 20 minutes time I figured I would try to help a fellow long term 'vert owner. Those plastic bushings you mentioned are an unknown to me. I'm just not good at this stuff. Sorry.
This is the 'stock' untouched set-up from the factory. I've never done a thing to it and it's all tight and fits well. The big bolts that look 'out' are in the same position on both sides and do not budge. I didn't realize how many pieces were actually present but I think I covered them all.
I hope you can get something out of this mass of photos. Good luck!

Im going to try getting a little bit of work on it this weekend. I circled the pins with plastic bushings in the picture. All of these pins that are actually rivets have plastic bushings to hold them tight. Yours look like they are in good shape mine are all worn and loose. But I will get my Engineering brain working on it and likely come up with a solution.

That tall bolt fits into the indicated slot in the body when the lid is closed to prevent the front of the lid from lifting up.

OK, good luck. I hope you have success, and please update us if you can find a fix as I'm sure it's a matter of time for mine as well.
