I weighed my car at the dump where they weigh all the garbage trucks in and out. It came out at 1790 kg (3938 lbs) with me in it. That would be 3718 lbs without me in it. My convertible is a 2001 SS with sound deadening in it and a sub woofer and enclosure in the trunk. The tank had just been topped off.

My 99 WS6 vert weighed in at 3950 on the scales at HRP. That's with me in it a sub woofer, SFC's and all the comforts of home. No weight reduction of any kind. I weigh 175.

Guess my 67 ragtop is not so heavy after all. At the local track it weighed 3945 lbs with me in it, about 3780 without me. 2195 front, 1750 rear. Thats with an all iron 455, A/C, ps, pb, p/top, sfc, caltracs, yada, yada. Wife's 04 C5 ragtop weighs about 3300.

3780 full tank, HD radiator, subframes, 2 amps, 4 small subs w enclosure, 4 17x11 rims, extra sound deadening, upper control arms, ds loop and heavy seats. Should be at 3980 with me in it. My roll bar will put me over 2 tons! Good stuff.

If you run as a roadster, then you are being affected by the wind much more at high speeds than with the top on, so it may not be worth it. Now if someone could fab up a fiberglass cover for the open space, it may be worth it, but were talking massive amounts of $$$ for something that is easy to overcome with a few extra horsepower. The money would be better spent on power mods, unless youre looking for a track only car, but then why buy the vert?

I've had it down to as little as 3,808 with me in it. Usually around 3,840 though.

Weighed on the same scale at the strip everytime. 2001 WS6 'vert, m6, all options (TCS, 6 disc, etc), Subframes, 100lb Incon turbo kit, removed spare and jack, quite a bit of miscellaneous **** in the console glovebox, no other weight removed.

*Edit- Usually weighed with hardly any gas in tank, 1/4 or less.
