Exclamation Rear Shock Help !

I have a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 Convertiable and I am replacing the shocks with Bilsteins. Just replacing the shocks and not the springs.

I cannot find the top of the shocks on the rears . I have what seems to be my interior in pieces and am very frustrated. Any tips for getting at that top bolt? I can't find it anywhere.

my personal e-mail is jasonmolitor2000@sbcglobal.net

Thank you very much!

Default Thank You

Thank you a ton. At least I wasn't the only one who couldn't find it. I realize that I took apart much more than I needed to but oh well.

Thanks Again

Fold down the rear seat and pull back the carpet, you will see to foam covers remove them anf you will see the top of the shock.

In the rear wall carpeting there are pairs of slits
that you can find. These need to be continued
with an X-acto knife (or whatever) to the edge of
the carpet and the carpet pulled out from behind
the side plastic panels. Then you remove the foam.

I actually have to pull my springs this week so I will go ahead and make a write up with pics on how to remove front and rear shocks/springs.

Not sure you will get an answer 8 years later but you never know. He could be the original owner like me.
