Default first time to track..best of 13.77

i went to the track for the first time this sunday..my first run was pretty bad I bogged off the line badly the only good thing about the run was that i still beat the SRT-4 that was lined up with me

60'- 2.5
1/8- 9.448
1/4- 14.229
mph- 103.05

the second run was my best of the day. I launched a lil bit better but still bogged some

60'- 2.268
1/8- 9.046
1/4- 13.77
mph- 104.16

my final run was horrible..i bogged horribly and in fact i threw the timeslip away because i was pissed off so i cant right down exactly what it was but lets just say it was much worse then the first run.

Overall i learned that the launch determines the race...afterall my e.t. improved by half a second with just a lil bit of a better launch. So do any of you have any advice for launching an M6? Also with a goodlaunch what should i expect to run with my mods? I am guessing that i can at least run a 13.4 or 13.3

I just came back from my first time at the track. I ran a 13.67 at 102. My car is stock with SLP options and its a 6 speed. It would have been better but i just couldn't hook on my street tires was getting 2.1 six foots then when i would shift into second it would just spin.

That was my lowest MPH too. The rest of them were 104s and 103s, it seems like whenever my 60 foots sucked my mph would be higher but when my 60s were good they would be lower. That was my best 60 the rest were all 2.3 so i guess its time for some m/t et streets.

i think good wide tires shuld do the trick. not maybe drag radials just normal ones. my buddy's stock LT1 A4 convertible left a 98SS camaro behind in the start just cus he had 275 pirelli's but the other guy was using stock width 245. also if you can shift quickly it makes loads of differance

Yea I need to work on my 60 foots. I allready have 275, my car came stock with the 275 ZR1s. I have Kumho ECSTA Supra that were on the car when I got it.My next street tire is going to be Nittos. A4s are alot easy to get to hook then the 6 speeds there was a 99 A4 t/a vert running 13.4s stock if I could get like a 1.9 six foot I think I could be in the low 13s.

Practice makes perfect. I just got a 13.2 outta my TA vert @ 108. This was with a lid and cutout with the stock Eagle RS-A's.

My friend took his '99 vert T/A to 13.6 @105 on street tires with a 2.0 60' but its an A4. just go to a empty parking lot or something and practice launching... thats what we did before we went to the track. we found out that 1500 brake torque was perfect, wouldent spin the tires to badily and 2000 was just to much. if you could pull a 1.9-2.0 60' i think you could see a 13.1 or lower if you power shift all the gears niceily

13.4 with a 2.0 60 ft A4 with 2.73's
Work on 60 ft times and your 1/4 times will follow. You are on the right path. Look into reloction brackets. they can bring as much as 2 tenths and for only $100 or so.. I think thats next for me..after the 305 3018 555 dr of coasre.....

They are designed to give you better traction by moving the lca down or up, which ever is the way you look at them.. I made some today take a look https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes/416733-make-your-own-relocation-brackets.html But you can buy them for about $75 or so. I just wanted to see if I can do it or not.
