Camaro Vert Speaker ?'s

Are there only 4 speakers in a convertible?
My Monsoon HU was replaced with an Alpine, but retains the Monsoon amp and speakers...sounds like a transister radio! I am looking to replace the amp and speakers. I am not looking to "thump" the neighborhood (infact, I hate those cars)...I just want a good sound with the stock speaker holes/grills. Any recomendations or words of advice? By the way, I am illiterate in stereo talk...lol

My 94 only has 4 speakers. I have MB quarts up front and kickers in the back. It doesnt sound very nice with the top down and only sounds ok with it up. I have a Alpine as well. I dont know why my setup sounds so bad but it's getting to the point I want to change everything again in hopes of getting the sound I want.

i have 4 alpine type S not powered with any amp and i still have the stock H/U. I also have a 10" type R in my trunk powered by a 450 rms amp.

That maybe be too loud for you but i know my alpines sound great with the top up and decent with the top down... maybe it is the stock amp or the after market H/U that is making it sound like ****?

mine only has 4 speakers...i bought some infinity speakers...they sound much more clear and are louder then the factory ones

ive had many nice speaker setups in diff cars. i have the TA vert but still should be the same as the camaro. an dmy stock system sounds nice. had decent thump from the 6 1/2 up front and good high from the back.

Hey Quiet do you have the model # on the Infinity speakers. I have a blown driver door speaker and I'm so tired of not being able to turn it up. I either need a replacement or maybe try what you have. Did you replace all four speakers?
