Default Why keep the windows up?

I've seen this a lot recently and couldn't really see the reason for it. I see it a lot around town with people having the top down but the windows up. They're going maybe 40mph but no faster, so wind noise isn't all that high. Is there any other reason for leaving the windows up? Just doesn't look right to me.

Ha! Same thing on the east coast! I'm guessing it's to keep the buffeting of the wind to a minimum.

Like someone mentioned above it's usually the older crowd with sebrings and bmw's I see doing it alot. I hate it and never understood it. I tried it once in the stang on a cold day with the heater on. It helped but looked stupid.

Why the problem? No problem really. It just looks stupid.

How would all these cars in our sigs in this thread look with the windows up... See any?

Once in a while to talk on the phone etc. of course, who cares...

But to say say there is nothing wrong with and doesn't look bad, yes it does.

easy guys...I think that it really depends on where you live thats all..I never put the top or windows up because it is never that cold....on days I drive it...but if I was in MA or somewhere like that I probably would since its colder there more often....either way...convertibles were made to feel good and enjoy while driving....so lets just enjoy them and leave it at that...By the way I think everyone would agree that everything down does look better, but is what you like that matters...

when I read the thread "convertible weather" (80's temps) popped in my mind. That's why I keep my windows down. It was almost 90 the other day and I just happened to notice z3's and z4's going around town with the windows up/top down, it's kinda odd. During phone conversation or cooler weather however I think it's fine, I don't think the thread starter was referring to an end all be all, rather I think he was referring to typical conditions where we put our tops down. hell maybe everyone should start putting disclaimers at the end of their posts.

Yeah, I probably should have put down weather conditions. It's been mid 80's here in the central valley of california, so cold weather was definately not a factor when I saw this, saw it again this morning as well. I didn't mean to start a fight here, just needed some explainations as to why people did it. I have nothing against it, just seems a little strange to me, but hey, to each his own.

Well I live in friggin Detroit and if I'm on the rock spitting semi truck highway or it's about 60 or less, my windows are up.

I'm putting that freaking top down anytime I have a chance, but I still got to be able to enjoy it. Freezing my right ear of isn't enjoyable.

On a cloudy 60 degree day the windows make all the difference.
