Default noise

well i love my verts. noise is def louder that hard tops. cloth vs sheetmetal. since the other car you're looking at has plenty of fast goodies i'm guessing it's not going to be very quiet.

drive both and pick the one that feels good...

If its a nice almost stock vert. get it. You will be so happy you did come spring. As for noise, well I must be used to the so-called louder interior noise because up to about 75mph its almost as quiet as the coupe. Course I'm not running loud exhaust either [Magnaflow muffler]. And my stock 02 monsoon really belts out the tunes quite well thank you. If the noise is the only reason you might not want a vert. be advised, it is not a problem at all. Besides, putting the top down and listening to the rumbling exhaust & or stereo more than makes up for a very slight increase in interior decibels. The Chicks love verts. A loud highly modified coupe will get old on the street as a DD. But like the man said. Drive em both, then decide ! Either way , Enjoy !

yes, the pimp-factor played a huge role in choosing a car; hence the vert.

Ive found that most people that have/get a vert are so glad they did! top down cruisin or mashing is just 5 fold in a vert!

the only things I do not like about a vert are:

- horrible line of sight with the top up (when looking back)
- it is a bit louder, so more difficult to listen to music

That really is about it! My goals were to get 11's n/a with mine. The diff between a hardtop and vert would be 11.30's vs 11.50's once all is said and done. IMO 2/10ths is not worth being caged in

Stock exhaust is pretty quiet. Not even an issue. I believe my old LT1 coupe was louder than this LS1. A negative stated above about the blind spot is very true. Also worrying about where you leave your vert (vandalism to top) is an extra issue I never even considered with my hardtop. Even with these issues I would never give up the 'top down exhiliration' during nice weather.

nothings better than leaving a stang in your 6spd SS with the top down. Also I think nothing from our cars is noise. Its all music to my ears. I had a ttop camaro and it was fun and at the time I was really not into verts but my girl got a drop top stang with a 5spd yes gt and her car may not be as fast as mine but it sounds damn good. Basically exhaust sounds so much sweeter with the top down.
vert is def more fun

Why or why would you ever be concern about the level of noise..I have never understood this... Convertibles were built really for one reason, to enjoy the outdoors..not to get rid of it...bottom line..you need to figure out what you want..if you want an "all inclusive car" it does not exist..you can make it close but there is a reason each car is different..I personally never put the to up...and I would not have it any other way

I would guess that you are a young'n then In highschool/college I really loved the loud exhaust ... and I still do, but for a daily driver I want something that isn't gonna rattle the teeth outta my head. Gorgeous Purple T/A btw though!

Mine is my DD. It has a Borla with 3/4 cut out for around town driving. Loud as hell with the top up or down. I will be 36 this month and love the car more than any I have ever owned (Cadillacs).

The blind spot is pretty bad at first but you do get used to it.

Biggest dissapointment: not being able to run it at the track without a roll bar. I spent a bundle on the suspension and under hood goodies, but can't test in on the track until I install (atleast) a 5-point roll bar.

Can you run a stock car without a roll bar? Or is there an ET limit? That might kill the deal for me. I'd like to be able to run at least a slightly modded car down the track a few times.

Our local track is a stickler for the rules and if you are a vert running 13.49 or better you need at least a 5 point. The WS6 will run that off the show room floor.

I guess that means no track time for me. I defenately don't want a roll bar.

i would love a rollbar myself and plan to get one shortly. For 2 reasons: 1) it makes things much safer 2) it looks cool
