top won't go up
You can reverse the polarity on the pump then try the switch, it should go up but not down... then you know its the switch. I had to do this in a pinch to get the top up after leaving a shop that was 100+ miles from my house, and yes, a bad switch was the culprit.
All I could find with a quick search was this schematic of the pump assembly, but I does not show the wiring with any great detail.

I'm currently at work, and will be untill 6:00am tomorrow. When I get home I'll try to take some pics of the wires on my car.

Make sure the top pump is full of fluid, these pump systems are notorious for leaking. Last I heard, GM recommends "mineral oil" for fill. Once you top off fluid, you may need to cycle the top once or twice to purge the air, then top-off fluid again (the pump has LOW and FULL marks).
good luck!
