Default convertible sub box?

ok fellas ive gone through the search and found some ideas but i was wondering... what is the best option for a daily driver convertible as far as a sub box goes? i dont want to loose any trunk space and want decent sound... i found this one but im unsure of what it would look like... not too many pics of the full install... i know i dont want a HUGE box taking over my seat either... any help would be great... thanx

Default I got this sub box from a guy on here, works pretty good

Didn't loose any useful space in the trunk. All you need is some good 8s. Now I am wanting to upgrade the rest of the stock system.

It has two cables that go forward from the box and connect to the pins that hold the back seat up.

I have 2 verts this one and my olds with a single 10" sub in the trunk. The bass is about half, maybe a bit less, with the top down on both cars. The only way I can see to avoid that is to place the sub in the cabin like that other sub does, but that wouldn't work for me, I have kids back there all the time.

Overall I am very happy with the box, very decent sound, but you need some very good subs, I had a cheaper set of subs to start and it wasn't near as good.

Oh, just in case you don't trust me about two verts.....

Yup. That's a custom built box - I have the same setup. Mine is currently living in my second vert. I have a pair of Rockford Fosgate Punch 8" subs - and it is perfect. Plenty of bass - but more importantly - no loss of trunk space and no interference with the top operation. Its the way to go.

EDIT: only thing to remember is that you want some quick disconnects for when/if you need to get to the spare tire, it does block it's removal.

Really , I had no idea on the spare tire, I didn't do it for easy removal, no one told me that, or I missed that detail....

Anyway, I think it's the only way to go in the vert...

The guys handle on here was Johhny B, I don't remember what I paid him for the box, he would sell the plans for the box or make it for you....

well, with the cage, i had to remove the backseat so i did something similar..

Initially, and this show how much i pay attention, the rear delete box i got for my car was something bought, however, it turns out that it is custom as well.

Basically, it's a rear seat delete with a set of 12's dropped in there.

Its so close....but the tire will not come out with the box in place. When I installed mine I got some high current quick disconnects designed for large gauge wire/high current draw. Just two - ground and power wires, then just standard disconnect for the turn on wire. Its not too late - you can still add it now. Until you do, make sure you have the appropriate tools to pull the box if you do need to get to that tire.

Can't remember the name of the connectors, if you are interested I will find out what they were.

I am running a set of Boston's and really like them. The only thing I have learned is that they are a high excursion woofer and are very hard to find grills that they won't hit... anyone need a set of kool 8" grills, I have a set that didn't work.

Hmm, didn't know he was selling them on ebay. I bought the box from him direct on this site.

Is that with the JL Audio subs? That's a very good deal if it is.
