Allngn_c5's new 402 from LG Motorsports UPDATE
Well its been 6 weeks of waiting and I had really hoped that my motor would've been done, installed, tuned, and ready for me to pick up. LG Motorsports is working diligently to get everything done but some things just can't be helped, and I understand. An aluminum ls2 was ordered, and the distributor sent a 5.3 block. Delay. My rods and crank were ordered and due to a back order at Callies it took longer to get my parts. Delay.
Now for the update. My aluminum LS2 block arrived on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. It is now at the machine shop getting setup for the already balanced internals to go in (callies crank and rods, and Mahle pistons). Shouldn't be too much longer. Hopefully by mid next week I should have more information. Now that the project is getting closer to being done its becoming harder to wait. LOL. I feel like a kid at Christmas !!
If the weather permits me to drive her back to Michigan I plan to fly down and drive the car home. If not, then I will be forced to leave the car at the shop until weather permits. If the latter happens I know my car will be in good hands, and they will have all the time in the world to work out any bugs with the tune, and do a proper break in for me. I'd prefer to get her back to Michigan, but I am fine either way.

For now yes, N/A all the time. I may at some point in the future jump into the NO2 game but I have no plans at this time. I really want to enjoy the new motor. More torque then I am going to know what to do with. She should be a well mannered N/A street beast once its all said and done. I have faith that LG Motorsports will do an excellent job, they always do. Another customer with a very similar setup (same heads and cam) made 502 rwhp 499.7 rwtq !! My setup should allow me to do about the same, but I am hoping for a bit more. Maury didn't have a ported 92mm fast opened to 95 mm and matched to a 95mm tb, or ud pully or ewp. However he did have Ultra lite YT's and I don't. So we'll see who's equation adds up to more power. Wish me luck.

So Jamie's build doesn't have you convinced to go with forced induction? Not even a used centrifugal? They're pretty reasonable these days you know... We need an :arm-twist: smiley, dammit.

Well considering my 59cc 205s and .040 cometics put me around 11.5 : 1 comression, FI isn't really an option. Now if I were to pick up some big 72 cc afr 225's and the compression ratio dropped to lets say 9 or 9.5 to 1 then FI would be more of an option. At this time I am beyond budget, and am spending money that I haven't earned LOL. Anyone want to send LG Motorsports a couple bucks in my name ?? J/K but seriously LOL. Believe me bro, I see your point all the way. Jaime proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that you don't have to have some fancy blower cam to make huge blower numbers. He pretty much proved that all you need to do is get the air in the cylinders and you will make power regardless of how much overlap you have with your cam.

looking foward to your results. Im sure they will not dissapoint. Why are you running stock rockers with your setup? Its not ideal and will wear out the valve guids if your using stock rocker setup.

Well heres the latest. My short block is done from what I understand, and should be picked up today. From there the topend goes on (cam, heads, intake) and then back into the car. Looks like next week at this time is doable but I am in no rush. The way Michigan weather is (snow in the forecast, so I might not be able to drive it home) I'd rather have the guys take there time and do everything right vs rush it and over look something. Especially since I can't just hop on a plane at a moments notice to go get it. Anyways I'll update again when I know more.
