whats the Ti exhaust mod... new to vettes saw a vid of a great sounding vette with it... sounds like people welded straight piping in place of the mufflers...

Ti exhaust, from what I understand is the the C5 Z06 came with Titanium exhaust which was lighter and nicer looking than the regular C5 exhaust. Many drivers will put the Z06 exhaust on the regular C5 and that is what I would think is the Ti exhaust mod.

No, it's when small pipes are welded on the Ti system to partly bypass the mufflers. Makes it louder for cheap.

Maybe someone can post some pics....

there are a ton of threads on this. as said above. it is the ti exhaust from the c5 zo6 with a bypass pipe welded in to bypass 1/2 the exhaust from the muffler. it is what i have on my car and i love it!!!

have fun finding someone who can weld titanium and do it right. the guy i used was good but he had to build a box to enclose the whole exhaust. he quoted me 100.00 but in the long run it cost him more than that in time and materials. but a man of his word stuck to the 100.00 quote.

dont call exhaust shops that the first mistake people make. call welding shops that advertise aviation welding. most aircrafts are made of titanium. its not like you in bfe. im sure you will be fine in vegas.

When I get my ZO6 this summer this is one of the first mods I plan on doing. The Ti cat-back flows good and is light. Just not loud enough. From what I have read the bypass pipes make it a nice bit louder. Then I'll do the Magnaflow OR upper pipes and X-pipe.

I have this done,,,and love it. its still somewhat docile putting around, but WOT is perfect. Of course mine is louder than most with a 416, long tubes, and no cats, but even on stock would sound best. Its not really cheap either. you need o get titanium pipe to weld in there, and the exhaust guy needs to be careful as welding Ti isnt like doing some crappy steel. my pipes were 60$ and it was 80$ for the labor.

it was from a member on corvetteforum.com

go o c5 parts section and search it. the pipes he has though are .030 thick, which is why you need to be careful welding. its really thin.
