I am not 100% sure on this, but doesn't the 2009 have a new trans or something. t56 out tr6060 in. 2008 might have it as well. If memory serves, people are saying it shifts smooth as hell.

The 08s and up have some changes. The trans is a bit different. Don't know if that "robs" em or not.

The new trans in 08+ is supposed to be less "knotchy."
The base HP difference between years is a frequent topic of discussion on Corvette Forum. The general consensus is that the stock 06 was tuned with a higher output from the factory. The unofficial story is GM "detuned" it 07 and after for drive-train viability concerns. The bone-stock cars on the Fast-List on Corvette Forum support this. But if your car is a later year and "tuned" it is probably the same. I say the 06's are faster (but I drive one).
