With an unsafe tune you'll probably hit it, and with a safe tune 480-490. (Just to be realistic) Either way you area going to be happier then a pig in **** driving that thing around. I wouldn't worry too much about dyno numbers, its still a c6zo6.

^^ I am glad I called it accurately. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I guess I have learned a few things on here by reading, and asking questions.

And it also very much depends on the dyno. My 2008 with a Vararam (factory tune) only showed 441rwhp on a Dynapack (432rwhp prior to the Vararam). And I pulled half a car length on a ~600HP Trans Am from a 60MPH roll (to ~135), so I know it's putting down more than that. Mustang dyno and Dynatech will also show different results.

I guess this is why folks constantly say that dyno numbers are only relevent to show HP gains and you can't compare numbers from one car to another unless they are run on the same dyno on the same day.

Depends on the track (track prep, density altitude, etc.).

Now you're getting the idea that bench racing is silly because there are too many variables.

Good track prep, perfect launch, perfect gear change execution, low density altitude = low 11's. Heck you might even be able to hit high 10's. Either way, you'll probably get kicked off the track.

Believe me, you will not regret getting a C6Z. This thing will scare the **** out of you bone stock. Headers, CAI, mild cam and a tune, and you are over 500rwhp, and it's very streetable (ditch the stock runflats ASAP). Forge the rest of the bottom end (crank is already forged) and drop in some forced induction, and you are over 600rwhp.

Yes, they are expensive as an initial investment relatively speaking, but this 427 motor dropped in everything else the C6Z has to offer (aluminum frame, magnesium engine cradle and roof, 50/50 balance, light weight with carbon fiber fenders and floor, very aerodynamic and just plain badass looking) is worth every penny. All my other cars listed below could not hold a candle to this thing. And the 2007+ models have a 100K mile, 5 year factory powertrain warranty! A racecar with a factory warranty?

And then when you're done playing, push a remote button to close the exhaust flaps, and cruise like it's a C6 Z51 coupe. Punch up the Nav and go someplace you've never been, tune the satellite radio to Howard Stern (if that's your thing), sip a Starbuck's, and just lay back and relax. Unbelievable.

Nitto Invos was my best decision yet. Although the Nitto NT-05s look very interesting. With the Invos, it feels like a whole different car.

All I have so far is a Vararam VR-SC1R, the M2W remote, and Nitto Invos. Everything else is how it came from the factory (minus a few appearance mods like Lloyd's mats, window tint and most recently tinted lenses and a removeable front license plate bracket). And I know I can hit deep into the 11s if I took it to the 1/4 mile. My best time in my Trans Am with ~380 rwhp and 3.73 gears was ~12.3. And this sucker is a heck of a lot faster.

Never look back and never regret. Aside from the 2009 ZR1, you now own one of the fastest, most powerful production Corvettes ever produced.

Before the Vararam and Nittos (i.e. bone stock) I pulled half a car length from a 60MPH roll on a 2002 Trans Am that was putting down 420rwhp on motor, and he was running a 100 shot of nitrous on top of it. So he was over 500 at the wheels.

I wish I could afford a C6 Z06. Someday!!!! However I just wanted to comment on the T/A with approx 380 rwhp running only 12.3. That is dog slow for that HP. I have 360 in my T/A and ran 11.8 and my buddy has 380 rwhp and ran 11.5. I guess ever car is different. I am looking for a good deal on a C5 Z06 as we speak. Congrats on having a Z06!!!

Well there you go bench racing. Come down to Baytown when it's hot and humid and try to hit that 11.8.

My Trans Am was an M6 and I don't powershift. Surely a stalled auto would be faster. 12.657 @ 111.930 MPH with a 2.01 60' was on street tires. Then I added Nitto drag radials and an LS6 intake to take it from ~360rwhp to its final 381.7 rwhp, 361.5 rwtq SAE corrected (1.02 CF) on a Dynojet. That 12.3 busted my 10 bolt, so that was the only pass of the night. I know it had more in it. And I didn't track it afterwards. Sold it shortly thereafter and got the '03 Z06.

And thanks. Dream big, win big. If you want one bad enough, you'll find a way.

Yup, I have a stalled auto (4000) with 3.73's. They are a lot easier on the POS 10 bolt because we can preload the drivetrain. The temp was approx. 75 degrees but I only made 5 runs with the new setup so I know my car has MAYBE a .10 or so more in it.

Bench racing? That is what I ran. You only had one run and it was a 12.3. I agree your car had a lot more in it.

There is a C5 z06 (2002) for sale locally that I am going to check out tomorrow. The dealer wants 27k, but is will to negotiate.

27K for an 02 c5 zo6 ??? In this economy ?? WTF !?!?!

That's why we call them STEALERSHIPS. Go look for a private seller. You'll do a lot better, especially if they are hurting for cash.

It has always amazed me how a dealership can take in a used car on trade and low ball the owner to lets say 10,000 and then after an oil change, full tank of gas, and a int/ext detail put it on the lot for 15000 and tell the next customer its a steal. I know because I used to work at a dealership and it disgusted me the way people got ripped off.

No, no. You misunderstood. What I mean by bench racing is it's just like trying to compare dyno numbers. Unless you run the cars on the same dyno on the same day, the numbers don't mean much. Same goes for 1/4 mile times. The only way to really compare how cars match up would be to run them on the same track on the same day under the same conditions.

Maybe I should've used a different term.

My '06Z06 is equipped with complete Kooks systems w/cats, a Vararam and Corsa's. It puts down 480hp/450tq at the rears on a Dynojet. I went with a conservative tune with less advance. You probably will have to go with an aftermarket cam to get over 500 rwhp. Enjoy your new ride and keep us posted.

STOCK - High 420's, 430, even a 440 here and there

CAI/tuned - 450 to 465, again depending on the dyno and shop.
