Default Z06 cam pkg#

-Test car was a bone stock 01 Z06, basline RWHP was between 333-341, shown is the highest (341).
-The package we installed consists of the following: Our 224/224 cam on a 114 LSA, Comp 918 Ovate valvesprings, Comp Chrome Moly pushrods, LG Pro Longtubes w/offroad, Taylor plug wires, NGK plugs, ASP crank pulley and belts, Royal purple Synthetics, Labor, AC recharge, Complete LS1 edit dynotune, and all necessary gaskets and bolts. The complete INSTALLED package price is $3511.96 plus tax. We can also go with a more agressive cam with no additional charge, except for the G5X2, we would have to add $250.

Here is the graph showing a 60RWHP improvement with a conservative tune. The car has a near stock idle quality, safe A/F ratio, and Stock timing.

Very impressive, good work!

That is the cam that I would choose if I cammed my Z (224/224 on 114). What kind of lift are you guys running with your 224? Looks like it did not peak a hell of alot higher than the stock '02+ Z06 cam.

The cam has .581 lift.

There are bigger cams that make more power, but for the guy that wants stock drivability, and an almost undectable "lope", this cam works very well.

Nice #s on that 385 hp '01. Would you expect similar #s for my 405hp '02?

I would expect the same numbers, the only difference between the two was the cam, and since we would be changing it anyway, the end result should be the same.

We also have the cam/spring/pushrod parts package on sale for $579.99.

Thumbs up

This is good package!

I made almost the same numbers in my '03 Z with:

FLP long tubes, TR 224/224/563/114 cam, blackwing filter and tunning, the car made roughly 400rwhp and 380rwtq with about 12.0-12.2 A/f.
I'm a pretty darn happy camper! Daily driver too!

Good numbers. Have you done any more on the 2002 Z06 with rockers and ported heads?

J-rod, it now has 427 that we built. It made 520RWHP with open headers and 504 through the stock titanium catback.

Tom

This is basically what I'm looking for (just the cam package that is). How similar is this 224 cam to the TR 224 with the same specs, and does the package include gaskets, shipping??

Thanks,
Mike

It will have a similar idle to the TR 224 cam.

We would have to add $15 for the GM crank bolt and seal, all other gaskets are re-usable.

Free Shipping.

I dyno tested my Z06 when it was stock and the dyno showed a 362RWHP and 350RWTQ .. i added an SLP long tube headers with an down H pipe with no cat-converters, an SLP 160 degree thermostat, Diablo programmer, VaraRam Air Intake with a Z06 high flow power duct (carbon fiber) and a hurst Billet plus Shifter.
how much would you estimate the RWHP after the modification and what would that cam package add on it?
Thank you

My 03 dynoed 353 stock, so you are already ahead of the game. I would suspect you to be in the low 380's right now, and with the 224 cam and tuning, in the 405-415 area.

REally impressed with the performance you've achieved. If someone wanted to go to a dual spring like the comp or crane dual...

How much would that add to the shipped kit cost? (any downside other than the extra cost?

Thanks

The 921 Comp kit, which includes springs,Titanium retainers, valve seals and spring cups, would add $375 to the price.
