Default 09 vette m6 drag radials?

Question...I have a 500 rwh 6speed car...is there any chance a set of nitto 555r drag radials will hook at the track with this much power.....or instead of having to go w a smaller set of rims, just buy some slicks????

Nitto's are a pretty decent tire and should do okay at a well prepped track.. but nothing beats going to a smaller wheel with a big tire whether it be a MT drag radial or a hoosier slick. I prefer the MT ET Drag radial because it is more stable at higher speeds but a slick will help out the 60ft a little bit better.

About 1800 rpm. It does have a Yank 3200 in it too.

As you can hear and see on the speedo, it did spin a little bit. That run was a 11.12 @ 128 1.68. The rims and tires he bought didn't work with the tune so there was some lag between the shifts. You can really hear it on the 2-3 shift. There were times I hit the rev limiter too. Not the right tire/rim combo.

Nitto drags are pretty good tires, I used them as my daily driving tires back in the days of street racing with my ls1. They will hold up just fine but you will need to heat em up pretty good to stick...

I am running Nitto Invos. They hook decent. Not as good as drag radials, but for an all around street tire, I love them.

500whp (it has more now) when this run happened with zero track prep and a ~2.0 60':

You need a line lock or to do the old hop on the brake trick with your clutch foot. You cant be getting them warm enough you car should 60" harder then that with nitto's. My car 60" that with crapy cumho's on it.

I agree, that was no burnout. If you're going to do this regularly, line lock!!!

Note that there was no water in the box. I can burn them fine. That track was setup for a 60-130 event, so the water box was dry. The water is there for a reason. It's lubrication to get the tires spinning.

And, as mentioned, there was no track prep. There is another one coming up on the 21st of November and John promised he'd prep the track this time. I will be there again, except with a Ragin' Racin' Lethal cam in it. That run was about 500whp. I will be closer to 520+ by the end of the week (not porting the intake, but I am porting the TB).

Side note, I am not prepping the car for the drag strip. I am prepping it for road racing. So no plans for a line lock.
