looking for a vette....good deal? Hey guys, looking to finally get into a vette. i was set on a c5z but they are still a little out of my range. i found a local black on black 99 c5 auto with 60k miles for 15500 obo at a dealer. i figure he will go to 14500ish +/- some. is this a good deal? or should i keep looking? is it worth it to wait to save up 5k more and get a c5z with more miles?

Speed wise in a straight line the smarter choice is a base model.. There is 2-3 on here right now right around that price range IIRC..
that is an amazing deal. i kind of wish i would have waited for a better deal, but im happy with my car. i bought it july 5th of this year with 79K miles. its a 99 a4 and i paid $19K out the door.

otherwise ,if you want to go to the track now and then, get a Z06, they are amazin' !

called the guy to feel him out a little. he states that his grand dad had a chevy dealer, and he always loved vettes and sells only the domestic performance cars..blah blah blah
he gets all his cars at the auctions and resells them. clean carfax, had this one since a week before thanksgiving
now i want an a4, but i tell him i really liked the 6 speed just to throw him a curve ball and he says "they are hard to come by and the only ones he sees are the faster vettes....the Z28 something or less.." i corrected him with a "Z06?" and he goes "yea thats the one"
now how do you pride yourself on being a used performance car dealer and not know what a z06 is? oo and i spoke with the owner. he said the car is snow covered right now and will clean it off if i wanna come take a look at it. told him i have a few others to call on and maybe ill be by in a few days.

Started a Ws6 up at a dealership a few weeks back.. I went inside and the conversation went like this...
ME- Well, it is obvious the car has a cam in it, I might know someone interested
Him- Yea, it has four cams in it.
ME- (laughing) No it doesnt,..... It has one....
Him- No, it has four..
ME- Ok.. I walked away..
This is also the same place that first told me 10,900.. Then they looked at the paper and told me 11,900.. I came back the next day with my interested friend and said they looked at the price wrong laughing at asking 10,900 and they wanted 12,900.. Said if they came down to 10,500 they would be losing a lot of money on the car.
Most car dealers are stuck up their own *** when it comes to cars.
