Because of my gears I have to run my power under 450rwhp until 75mph or I risk turning the car around on the street, as I have almost done several times. At 75mph, by experience, I can finally lay down ZR-1+ power in 3rd when it's warmer. I would probably need the 8lb I commonly have to do it right though and it would happen so fast it would almost not matter and they would both seem really sweet. But, I could play!

(3.42*30mpg)/4.1= 25mpg: I like my sixth gear just the way it is!
And, your cars motor power numbers are probably similar to my cars when my boost is on low and you still will have less midrange torque with similar low end gearing. Your cars numbers similar to a stock C6 Z06 still has less power and torque under the curve, but, more gear. Your hitting any nitros up here in first gear when the pressure is up is simply laughable and would be entertaining, but, dangerous. I would put my money on the engineered stock C6 Z06 under the above mentioned normal circumstances if you didn't pound him into submission.

The only reason you would have any chance with any stock Vette in the above real world normal situation is because you are still a small displacement, but, I'm sure you will take care of that soon too!
Thanks for helping me make some points!

The op does not even have a car...one of the guys that only have internet lives. It always sounds convoluted when it is made up. The clue is when the op tries to prove points with magazine articles. At least in the old days guys would lie about how fast their dad's car was...now it is all pretend.

The only people who are commenting on this post are the ones who it doesn't pertain to. Others who it pertains to are not commenting and that speaks for itself. Again, I wouldn't want my cars short gears with any other ZR-1+ power level, except maybe a centrifugal since there power ramps up. Gearing can make a massive difference in power levels and traction. That's what I said before and the article above validates that, period!!!!!!!!!!
My turbo car can mitigate that gearing by manipulating power levels therefore I can play with the big boys in certain ranges and many of you can't!

Regardless of what your posting,... I wouldn't call stock ZR1's "the big boys".
Please. Fantastic car yes but, hardly the big dawg.

If I built my car again!
My ideal hill running, better anytime street blastable "Big Boy" *** kicking 02C5Z06:
1) A new 7000 rpm 350 with ram air
2) A new performance std gear trans.
3) 4900-6700RPM window 100-shot over the MAF with a final tune for ~550RWHP Max and under 4800rpm ramping up to ~415RWT Max..
0-60s in 2.9s (without masterful driving)
1/4 mile in 10.9s (without masterful driving)
200mph capable (need ground effects)
Better out of the corners (without masterful driving), etc! etc!
Torque:
1stgearC5mod(66mph*415rwt)/55mph=498(relativetoZR1~535rwt)
2ndgear C5mod(92mph*415rwt)/85mph=449(relativetoZR1~535rwt)
3rdgear C5mod(120mph*415rwt)/112mph=445(relativetoZR1~535ZR1rwt)
Horsepower:
1stgearC5mod(66mph*550rwhp)/55mph=660(relativetoZR1~555rwhp)
2ndgear C5mod(92mph*550rwhp)/85mph=595(relativetoZR1~555rwhp)
3rdgear C5mod(120mph*550rwhp)/112mph=589(relativetoZR1~555ZR1rwhp)
Too bad none of us here has this setup as he would be the man on the street IMO.
Thanks for your help !

For all practical purposes the new ZR1 is "A Big Boy". Not the bigest, obviously!

Straight line-awesome, for a stock car. No match for heavily modded cars.(bigdawgs)
Road course-awesome for a stock car. No match for a big wheel C5-C6 on coilovers and a proper tire.
All around,.... the car is amazing. Hope one day to have one.. Stil, it's only the big dawg, around other stock corvettes of years past.
