Question LS3 C6 Clutch Pedal on the floor EXPERTS come in...

Last week I had my clutch slave and master cylinder replaced under warranty due to the sticking issues lots of us are familiar with. So far, it seems to be working. My particular issue has always been shifting from 2nd to 3rd after a high rpm shift in 1st and 2nd.

Is there ANYTHING one can do to prevent this "pedal on the floor" issue from coming back? I wonder if a MOTUL RBF 660 fluid is the best way to go at this point with 25 miles on the new hydraulic set up?

Thoughts, opinions?

Also, if it comes back to haunt me what's next? A new clutch?

I replace the fluid in the reservoir every month. It only acts up once in a while. Very stupid problem but I had the same problem on my 99 SS Camaro, but much worse.

just get a tick and be done with the problems. This is such a common issue and the only true fix is a tick.

You mean the Tick MC? I'm pretty sure there is NOT one available for the C6 yet. If there was/is I'd be the 1st in line to get one.

A new clutch fixed it for me. Mine was slipping, causing the fluid to heat excessively. I bet with the setup you got, the clutch is crying every time you get on it. Have you tried maybe putting it in 4th or 5th at a low speed and punching it? This is hell for a clutch, and if it's gonna slip, it'll do it here. My new clutch doesn't slip, so no more pedal issues for me. I got the tick master to hopefully fix some of the rough shifting (haven't installed it yet though).

Good advice here! I'm pretty sure that it will work on the C6 as well as the C5 since it mounts to the clutch pedal assembly instead of the firewall.

IF YOU RUN YOUR VETTE HARD. ALL OEM CLUTCHES SLIP. THIS CAUSES MASSIVE HEAT. THEN FLUID FAILS AND PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR.

IF YOU WANT IT FIXED PERMANENTLY. GET A NEW NON OEM CLUTCH. PREFERABLY A DUAL DISK AND IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN

i dont have a C6 but i do have a C5Z and i had this problem too! I hoping to get my car back from my mechanic today actually. I will mention though that i did manage to break 3/4 of the "fingers" on the pressure plate. I dont know HOW this happened. Ive never tracked my car either. In the process of changing it all out with a Monster stage 3 with all the goodies. All but the tick MC.

Putting the Textralia OZ700 Z-Grip in the car today. Will let y'all know if the problem is solved as expected.

I still get a "spongy" pedal with my Textralia z-grip after a high rpm run. It never sticks on the floor though. I bleed the stock master cylinder regularly too. Might be time to get the adjustable MC now.

This is pretty much what I'm experiencing so far as well. 250+ miles on the clutch so far. I have thought the entire time this was not a clutch issue, but a MC hydraulics problem. I "think" I'm right.

Do the drill mod. Lol Idk. I know in the 98-02 F-body and 97-04Corvettes, all you had to do was the drill mod, but Im not sure how the C6 folds into this.

BTW, Post more pics of ur Avatar!! Stop being Greedy!! LOL

Do you want to replace it with an RPS?

So your pedal gets stuck? I believe its something pilot bearing related...

No thanks...

Hangs on the floor after a few high rpm shifts. They did not change the pilot bearing so I hope that you're wrong.

If it stays on the floor its got to be the master. C5 corvettes didnt have that problem, but the 98-02 Fbodies did. The C5's problem was that it just wouldnt shift at that high rpm. The F-bodies clutch pedal would get stuck on the floor board. Try doing a search on their forums or threads and see what you find..
