Thinking of selling my Trans Am for a corvette...Want a Z06!
Initially I had a 98 WS6 and sold it for a C5 vette and loved it. Time went by and I really missed the feeling of a muscle car over the feeling the vette gave me. So, I bought another Trans Am and now Ive been looking more and more at Z06's and honestly I think I want to find myself one as a graduation gift for myself! Yeah 6 weeks left!
I dont think I will look back If I get a Z06. It's seems like a much better investment: For the point being that any money I put into my Trans Am will eventually be lost becasue I will never be able to sell the Trans Am for the money I put into it. Its going to take some cash that I really dont want to put into my car to make it as quick as a Z06 would be. I think I would be better off buying a Z06. Its superior over the Fbody and I would have a blast getting myself into one.
Any input would be great- I know this has been posted before but I would like to hear more from you guys! Thanks a lot!

I made the move about 2 months ago and not looking back. I went from the TA in my sig to a bone stock 02 Z06. Test drive a Z06 and you will be hooked.
And, yes I test drove (stock) C5's because I did not like the idea of a hard top and there is huge difference between them and the stock Z06.
Good luck in your search

If your looking for the muscle car feeling then the Z isn't it. They are more exotic, in my eyes, then a camaro or trans am. Z's almost handle , stop and ride to well to really feel like a muscle car use to. Muscle cars are supposed to have a little body roll and not be so great at turning but haul serious *** in a straight line.
Don't get me wrong I love my Z and like it more everyday but in order to love the car I had to let go of missing the muscle car feeling of my trans am, because I was really in the same boat as you are in missing my trans am almost to point of buying another one.

Even stock, my '01z was more enjoyable overall then the TT Firehawk.
They have pretty much bottomed out in price, there are some killer deals on modded or stock C5's in the classified of corvetteforum.
Get you job situation settled after graduation, and enjoy the hunt for your next Corvette!

I say go for it! I sold my twin turbo T/A over a year ago and just got into my vette in January... Its nowhere near as fast as my T/A was, but its just an overall extremely fun car... I made a good decision - and it was a killer deal!

I had a 70 1/2 SS 396 375 hp Camaro that was nice and quick. I also had a 71 Hemi Challenger and personally neither of those cars could touch the experience of driving the Z06. All 3 where pretty much stock, and I am quite sure the Z06 could outrun either one without much of a hazzle!

Do it! I've had several F-bodies, then went to a modded C5 to a C6 Z06, now a Silverado! Hoping to get another Z06 when time/$ permits.
Point being: I was so happy with my C5 coming from an F-body, and coming from my modded C5 to my C6 Z06 was a change as well.. Both Corvettes were fun, but the C6 Z06 is just incredible. I'd consider another F-body, but would beg borrow or steal for another Z06.
