Vararam users!

I immediately noticed a big difference. I only had the car 1 week before I installed the VARARAM and it was definatley sotp noticable and also noticable by the loss of traction@ the top of first gear.
I had a Blackwing and installed a Vararam. It made a slight difference, I could tell that my IAT's were more consistant. I'm not happy with the way the Vararam seals (or doesnt seal) around the filter.

It only flows well because the media itself is so coarse that when you hold it up to a light you can literally see through it in parts. So that struck it down on that alone for me. Yes it will flow better, but then again so will some Sheer Ultra pantyhose over the intake, but how effective is that in the long run? I have grown up around race cars and the shops that work on them. One thing you don't screw around with is an airfilter. Wether you are at a race course or behind other cars on the highway, there's still dirt in all particulate sizes in the atmosphere being stirred up that the filter protects from entering the engine. You could see better results from tuning the car with LS1 Edit, if you want that extra edge.
With that being said, I ordered a K&N filter from Vararam, installed it in the foam filter's place and have been really happy with it thus far. I tried a few different intakes before settling w/ the vararam. Overall, I like it a lot and will stick with it. However, the service I've gotten from Vararm (the company) in the past has been far less than stellar.
Overall - 'decent' product, bad customer service. Would I buy it again? Yeah, probably so, but I wouldn't pay a premium for it over the other CAI's.

you want more power cheaply? do the zip tie mod... take the cover off and tie wrap the filter to the tray... 10 rwhp it works and its cheap... if you have to spend cash on an airi intake buy the vararam or blackwing or Halltech those seem to be the best

Had a vortex,Then jump on the vram bandwagon.Throttlebody got coated
with road dirt. Then i got the K+n, the damn seals kept on coming off.
went back to the vortex and never looked back.I do have to admit
i had a early system though.

Well I got some real testing done and I am very pleased with the Vararams performance. New best 1/4 :11.211 with a 1.598 wheel hopping 60ft And a new mph best of 122.99mph on 275/40/17" BFG's. Temp and DA was very close to Vortex best runs of 11.250 with a smooth 1.586 60ft on Nitto's and a 120.20mph trap. My best mph that day was 120.58 .The DA both day's were in the -900 to-700 range. I ran in the 121.84 and up to 122.99 best all Day. I did add a smooth air coupler to my set up also and that may have helped increase my mph slightly.
