Default New Best mph today

Went to Gainesville with the vette today. The burnt twin clutch has been getting smoother every day, so I decided to run it before the Tex goes in. Must have been glazed to the max.

Barometer was a lousy 29.86 all day and temp was from 50 to 54 degrees during my runs.

Started with 18psi in my ET Streets..launched at a low 4000 roughly and cut a 2.0 sixty (it tripped the beam from the clutch creeping forward before I actually launched)

1) ran a 12.5 at 86mph with 18psi...(2.0 sixty) 4000rpm launch

2) ran an 11.75 @ 86mph with 15psi....(1.69 sixty) 4000 rpm launch

3) ran a 10.928 @ 130.63mph (new best) with 14psi (1.66 sixty) 4000 rpm launch and it bogged

4) ran a 10.834 @ 128.90 mph with 14psi (1.541 sixty) 4500 rpm launch

Called it quits as the clutch was getting hot. It is still creeping forward, but with the new TIC installed, it actually shifted awesome, if I let it cool down an hour betwen runs.

Fun day in all, blue sky and 14mph gusts. I have 2 videos on my friends camera. Will post tomorrow. My previous best run was a 10.66 @ 129 in -1200 DA, so it is about right on with my 10.83 today and the lousy 1.541 sixty foot, barometer only at 29.86 and 54 degree air. Better times on the way.

Nice runs - if you don't mind me asking what size ET streets do you run on those stock rims? Also what rear end since I see you run a 3.90 gear - still a C5 diff?

ET Streets, 26 x 11.5 x 17"

The diff is by RPM, but has a DTE ring\pinion because of a bad launch a while back.

Thx Kevin. I actually put the vette in the garage in full drag condition (still wearing slicks\skinny's) waiting to see what the weather does. I am ready to go back.

I don't know what Level it is as I just sent it in for upgrades. It has held up fine except the ring and pinion as shown above, and I didn't blame that on RPM. A twin disk clutch with an agressive driver ate that bad boy.

This is why I bought a spare 3.42 diff, threw in the C6Z output shaft on the driver's side and installed it w/ a DTE brace (haven't been to the track yet though). Now if it breaks at the track I'll just pull it home and re-install my stock diff.

Well I have a spare one as well and a DTE brace too just not installed yet. But let me know how that set up works out at and if its works out good enough I might do the same.

Yeah but I only have 4 vids with the stroker motor. Getting people to go to the track every time is impossible.

This is 2 cold weater runs:

10.66 @ 129mph (a 1.47 sixty foot)

http://s895.photobucket.com/albums/a...1066129mph.mp4

10.79 @ 127mph (it wheel hopped off the line, high 1.5 sixty foot))

http://s895.photobucket.com/albums/a...0791272mph.mp4

This is last weekend with mild weather and lousy sixty foot times:

10.92 @ 130.63mph (bad sixty foot in the high 1.6 area)

http://s895.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=M2U00734.mp4

10.83 @ 129mph (better 1.54 sixty foot)
