Default Gearing up for Trex cam install

Just bought a Thunder Racing Trex cam (242/248, 608/612, 110) and am in the process of gearing up for the install on my 2002 Z06 (Blk/Blk).

Any thoughts out there on preferred dual springs?? Patriot, Crane, Comp? Seems the kits run in this order from $280 - $560

Hopefully, I'll also install a new oil pump, dual row timing chain, underdrive pulley, plugs, and wires as well.

Should have the Kooks (w/no cats) on prior to cam install, or may wait and do all at hte same time.

Any other "must do's" I should consider with this cam??

The plan is to be complete and get the dyno tune in May or early June so we are locked and loaded for the summer trip to Bowling Green!

From what I've heard the cam recommends higher than 3.73 gears if you have a manuel and 4000 or higher stall convertor if you have an auto.

hey man,

kansas city huh? where abouts? as for the t-rex that is what i am going to run and i would recommend you call SDPC #1800-456-0211 ext. 354 barry. i just ordered my entire valvetrain from him the other week it was in the 500 dollar range but the kit he put together especially for me was and is intended for the t-rex cam. call him ask him about it he is really nice and calls you back! i have noticed when you leave message at other places getting called back is rare. try that out man.

Red,

Thanks, I'll give them a call.

I'm in Overland Park, off Metcalf and I435.

We'll have to get together for sure once the cam is in.

your probably gonna want lifters and some sort of rocker arm setup. the cam has a really fast ramp and its hard on the lifters and with the comp r's you really need some sort of adjustable rocker.

its gonna want to idle at about 900-950 but its not too unbearable idle wise. not really any worse than an x3 at least.
