Dyno results for 04 C5 6speed (Non Z06)
I just got done running my 100% stock 04 C5 on the dyno.
Car has 450 miles on it and the run was done on a dynojet in 86 degree weather.
rwhp 317.65
rwtq 335.34
Seems like a decent starting point.(My 00 SS baselined at 303/315
I will be adding a Magnaflow Catback with X pipe and the Zip tie mod within the next couple of weeks.(I will post my results accordingly)

04 C5-stock(???)
03 Silverado-sold(14.5@95)-boltons
00 Camaro SS-sold(12.1@116.5)Boltons and TR224

Colonel,
I always try to baseline my car before I start modding it.(Dyno/Track)
I think we are in the same state of mind when it comes to our C5's.I want to keep the car intact and enjoy it for as long as possible.(While modding it for daily driver status)
I made the mistake of turning my 30K Camaro into a drag car and destroyed it within 35K miles.(Motor, tranny, rear, interior)I will not make that mistake again.
I love this car, it is everything I wanted my SS to be and then some.
2 of our local tracks are closing within the next 2 months and I am over driving 2 hours for 2 runs.
Future plans call for exhaust, intake, ported TB,100 dry shot along with a slightly lowerd stance and hopefully some HRE's if things work out.
I just want a comfortable car that can suprise some people when the time calls
What do M6 Vettes typically dyno stock?

interesting item on "new" C5 dynos, they appear to have a little higher rwhp after about 1500 miles...so your car at around 2000 miles would probably dyno 5 to 10 rwhp higher than at 450 miles...sometimes this fact can be misleading after adding a mod, thinking the mod contributed more than it actually did....
i have been told (read on Forum?) that GM tuning "adjust" after breakin miles or around 1500 - 2000 miles...not based on fact, just Forum gossip?

I actually just pulled the car again after it sat while I ate lunch.
I work at a facility that has 2 dynos and the air quality was poor in the room this morning due to the other dyno being used.
I started it up and let it run until it was up to temp.
New numbers:
rwhp 317.65
rwtq 337.63
All runs are SAE corrected and there is no mods or dyno tricks.
I wonder if it will hit 365 rwhp if I keep running it!

Just had my 04 coupe dyno'ed and tuned last week on a Dynotech dyno.
Came in at 290 rwhp and about 315 rwtq (if I remember correctly). I thought this was a little low.
Have a 3.42 gearbox, 2800 torque convertor, and Vararam VR-1B installed.
Do these numbers sound a little low or is this what I should expect?
(Had the car baselined at another dyno before the mods were installed and it produced 306 hp.)

I have never heard of a Dynotech Dyno?(Maybe they read lower like a mustang dyno)
Did you do a baseline before the Tuning and intake were installed?
You would probablly be better off running it again at the first place you had the coupe dynoed.
I would guess that an intake and tuning would give you close to 20rwhp+
Remember the Vararam will show much better track times then dyno due to the ram air effect.
I also think the gears and converter are costing you some power. On the dyno it is less efficent but on the street it feels gooooood!!!
Sounds like a beautiful car!

Qwik03, if that's for me, yeah, I had a stock baseline with just the Vararam system installed. Wasn't happy with the original place that did the baseline tune and took it to another place that finished the tuning.
The dyno shop I finally used was awesome. I'll post the link here tomorrow of the equipment they used (the link's on my office computer ). Anyway, the tuner said his dyno is about 10-15 HP lower than most other brands but that you definitely lose HP adding drivetrain components without adding engine components to make up the difference. As was stated in posts above, 10-15 HP loss isn't unusual going from 2.73 gears to 3.42 gears. Can you imagine if I'd gone directly to a 4.10?
EDIT: Remember the site: www.dynojet.com
The car's performing great now that the tune is done. The tuner said my new Vigilante TC might be slipping a little. I need to run by my local Vette garage and have the guy check the tranny fluid level -- these trannies are so sensitive to being even a LITTLE bit low of fluid.
Thanks for the interest!!!
