I don't know about Z06 wins hands down, but I do know that three are some people who have gotten high 11's (Z06vette forum has several people with time slip) with their stock Z06's and I have not seen bone stock C6's into 11's...yet.

i saw a 03 z06 vs a c6. the z06 pulled it everytime racing from a highway roll. then they raced from a stop, the c6 jumped the gun bigtime, and obvisiouly beat the z06..not much by much though, the z06 was i think, at the c6'c door.
they said its the z06's gearing in the tranny that give it the edge over the c6.

Well, that depends on what you like. If you like new or up-to-date technology, the sharper edged looks of C6 and don't mind paying around 45k, then C6 is for you.
If you like the smoother look with FRC, and slightly better performing (IMO) Z06, which btw is much cheaper, then C5 Z06 is for you.
Personally, I still don't care the for new look of C6, but that's just my preference. However, the new look may grow on me, just like C5 did....So, I'll keep my Z06....for now.

i haven't seen any times for C6s that haven't been on street tires but everything looks like the C5 Z06 is going to edge it out.

I read an thread on people that bought C6s and were now trying to get a z06 back because they feel totally different. They claim that the agressiveness of the vette went down since the c6 (i guess that will change with the new z06)

On a road coarse, Andy Pilgrim, I believe, ran both, the Z06 was about 0.5 sec faster. It would probably be a draw if the C6 was no on runflats. BTW, it was a Z51 C6 and the track was Gingerman, during testing on the C6R.

Zo6 Today I bought a Torch Red 2004 ZO6 (21MAR05). I dont like the new C6 body style. So, I went for the 04 model. Got it for $46,092.34 Tax, Tag, Title, and 72 month 100,000 warrently. I think its a good deal.
