Diffs between '97 & '02(Z06) clutch?

1997 = 2155 lb pressure plate...... 2001 ls6 = 2475 lb pressure plate.....the hub spring in the 2002 disk was strengthened also....for a bolt on car or a heads/cam never on slicks car the 2002 is fine....IMHO the Cartek 3200 lb pressure plate is good for anything else...I have it and like it.

I have a GM Parts CD for the '97-01 C5 (includes the Z06), but what i don't have is any info on the '02 Z06. I'm trying to find out what all changed for the '02 Z06 and determine if the cost to upgrade everything would be cheaper then going the Cartek route. Believe me Cartek is my first choice but $800 (not including install) is a little steep for me right now. I just had a MTI H/C (plus other bolt-on mods) done this past Oct, plus i need to get a set of rims & ET Streets since the track opens up in mid-Feb. Who knows, maybe one day i'll win the lottery and won't have to worry about stuff like this.

btw, going to the Quartermaster lowered my flywhee/clutch weight from 59lb to 19lb, and that combined with the ATI aluminum underdrive pully really lets the engine spool up!
