Why not? I have two sources actually, both of my cousins. One works at the plant that makes the LS1/LS6 block and heads, and the other is the engine test engineer at the plant that assembles the LS1/LS6. Pretty damn good sources if you ask me.
C6 is the designation for the 6th generation Corvette. Current production is in the 5th generation, hince the name C5.

03 Coupe + Conv. - 365 Hp 365 Ft Lb. Torque. extra HP + Torque achieved by Cam used in '02 ZO6, removal of MAF screen, like '02 ZO6, deletion of pre cats (pups), and new air intake like '02 ZO6.
** 03 ZO6 - 425 HP 425 Ft. Lb. Torque. Achieved by updated-revised heads, computer tweaks, and possible new Throttle Body.
** 03 LS88 - 520 HP 520 Ft. Lb. Torque. Engine is a 427 Small block. It will be produced by LPE. The engine will be shipped to the plant and installed at the plant. The car is to be a direct threat to the 03 Dodge Viper. Look for this engine to carry over for the C6.
** C6- Will be a 2005, released in early 2004, will have exposed headlights, was held back because of concerns by Bob Lutz, new GM head of design. Look to see 2 engine options. A 6.0 liter and a high performance 7.0 liter (427 small block) Base engine will be 400 Hp and 405 ft. lb. Torque. Exact same motor as '03.
Added 1-1-02: Also OnStar, Navigational System option, HID headlight option, and better sound sytem.

Not only that, but the A4 tranny is only rated to 350ft/lbs currently. GM would be opening themselves up for tranny problems should they rate the engine more than the tranny is rated for. I would expect to see some tranny improvements before we see the 365ft/lb rating(as is currently done by the PCM in the A4 cars, from what I hear, reducing them to 350ft/lbs from the 375 rating of the M6 cars).
