Default Z06 or C6

OK this is a simple question with I think not such a simple answer.

03 Z06 (which I can get for about $33-34k) or a C6 Z51 6spd (which I can get brand new for about $39k GMS)

I cant decide! I love the performance of the Z06 and I believe it will outperform any C6 stock for stock.

But the Z06 is still a C5...and the C6 looks much better IMO.

For the GMS price, I'd go with the C6.

Are you trying to say LS2>LS6???? I dunno about that

If I got the C6 I would have no more $ for mods for a long time.

If I got the Z I would probably do at least intake, headers, muffler for now

Also, another prob is my SS makes 500RWHP on motor right now, so either one would be a step down cause I would have to sell it.

C6 all the way. The only reason I would get another C5 is if I couldn't afford a C6.

If it were me I think I would get the C5... I honestly think the C5 Z06 looks better then the C6. and that is IMO... But do what you really think you should do because if you don't, it will bother you as long as you have the car... Give it alot of thought before you go for either one... Having to sell your car first will help give you time to think.

buy the zo6, you will not be dissapointed at all, a zo6 is somthing special, its just not an ordinary pick of the litter c5 or c6 for that matter, a zo6 will outperform a c6 in every way shape and form, and you cant go wrong the styling of the fixed roof coupe, throw a nice set of harts or ccw's on it and a c6 couldnt dream of looking that good.

FWIW-there are 450-460rwhp cam only z06, they have better heads than the c6, which use 01'zo6 heads...

This is why it is a hard choice. I think the C6 looks better, but not much. And I may be willing to sacrifice some appearance for performance...

Unless you are in my shoes and planning on keeping it forever to me the 03 50th Anniversary ZO6 has better long term value, plus it's a ZO6 instead of a coupe brings future dollars. I may be wrong, but that is the reason I bought this one. I don't care about mileage or mods. either, I drive it. No trailer queens for me.

C6 is newer

02+ Z06 is faster

If they were both the same price I would get the C6 because it will have a better resale value.(I would be awazed if you could get a C6 for 39K)

Not because GMS isn't a great deal but it is next to impossible to find a no options C6.(Most of the ones I have seen are loaded and cost in excess of 53K)

I am a little biased about the looks of my C5 so I will let other people handle that debate.

You should have no problem supercharged. Hey just saw this you may have too. https://ls1tech.com/forums/corvette-performance/320513-lame-track-times-1000-mile-c6.html
It's all in the driver, but could be a confidence booster hehe!

I personally prefer looks of C5 over C6, but eventually I'm sure I'll buy into C6's look, just like it took some time before I thought C5's looked good and it took even longer before I came around about the looks of Z06. But now, I love the looks of C5 Z06 and wouldn't trade for C6.

Yes, C6 has up-to-date technology but I'm not impressed with C6's performance...yet.

Go test drive both. The C6 is a much nicer car inside and out, they basically fixed all the problems and quality/material issues that the C5 had. The main reason most C6's aren't running times like the Z06 is due to tuning issues. Once we get some custom tuning available, they should run pretty much like a stock Z06. Damn torque management crap and 200F coolant temps at cruising speed. !!!!

the beta version of LS2edit is out there, only a few vendors have access to it right now. I hear that HP Tuners has their beta version nearly completed, and should be testing it soon.

That's not true. The C6 laps the SAME EXACT TIMES Nurburgring as the C5 Z06.

I own a C5 and have owned a C5 z06, and I'm telling him to get the C6. Have you even owned an LS1, let alone a C5? You should let the people who actually know what they are talking about speak in this thread, and try to learn as much as you can. Sorry to be so hard on you, but it upsets me when somebody tries to represent an opinion as a fact when they actually have no idea or experience. I feel I am qualified to speak on this subject after owning 2 C5's (including a C5 Z06), and driving a few C6's. The C6 does NOT feel any slower than the C5 Z06 in ANY way, shape, or form.
