Default Dustless Z06 Brake pads?

Does anyone make a pad that will create LESS brake dust for a 2002 Z06?

Jim

Have you tried stock C5 pads? My car seems to stop quite well and I've never noticed any brake dust. I doubt you'll even notice the performance difference.

If Z06 pads are the same as regular c5 pads then use EBC Green Stuff. More Bite Less Dust. Have them in stock.

GM has ceramic replacement pads that are virtually dust free. You can also get ceramics at about any parts house.

Whats the part number on the ceramics? front and rear please
Where can I get Durastop Ceramic Pads? (pm if you dont want to say)

From what I can tell there is a big difference in price of the hawk pads and the ceramics. Any reason for this?

Ceramics are not a good tracking pad, they will fade under hard use, but fine for a street/strip type car. Hawks generaly are are more perf type pad. Vendors on Corvette forum sell the GM pads and they are very reasonably priced. The stock Z06 pad is a pretty good tracking pad and thus the dust: they are working.

I would have to agree with robert56, if your gonna push the limits frequently with your car, ceramics will fade( I think they are just too hard!) however, I would not be at all concerned if you primarily drive your car normally.(whatever that means..lol) I have them on mine, and they sure help keep your wheels clean!! I love them!!!

The stock C5 pad is very good-I switched to them on my Z06 but eventually switched back to the Z06 pad. I was out messing around with a buddy and after a few hard stops the stock C5 pad started to give-the Z06 pad never gives up-it's damn good. So it dusts a bit more but man will it ever stop the car!
