Too much going around to actually say "this is the C6" even GM isnt saying much on the subject...

A few months back in Vette, they had some spy pics of body pieces being "baked" in the sun...looked like Tiger/White Shark pieces, except there were like 50 of 'em.

My guess...C6 has similar styling to the Tiger/White Shark, and is probably powered by a "Gen IV" motor of some kind...

Default possible c6

I saw the cadillac xlr roadster at the car show and wasn't too impressed. I'm hearing rumors that GM is going to use the same parts and that they are almost identical. Could anyone clarify.

Thanks

I hope not. Hopefully it will look something more like the SS:

With that said, you have to realize the target market each car is aimed at. There "platforms" will be the same. That is all. The supension will be tuned differently. Those Caddy folks are gonna want a solky smooth ride. The Caddy is going to have a 4.6L Northstar......doubt the Vette will turn up with that. The trannies will be different....I don't even think they are offering any kind of traditional man tranny. So while the chassis's will be similar/same, that is about it. The Vette is a sportscar. The Caddy is a luxury car. They will be nowhere close to identical. Maybe about as identical as an F-body is to a Vette. This is all just speculation of course. And don't discount Caddy. They are doing some pretty cool stuff over there.....like 500hp V12s!!!!!!!

The C6 is going to have a big displacement gen III motor, Perhaps around 400ci. All aluminum.

The XLR will share some of it's basic structure with the next (C6) Corvette and be built at the same plant (Bowling Green, KY) but that's about where the similarities end.
The XLR will have a 5 speed automatic that might also find it's way into the C6 as it's automatic trans (6 speed manual available as well).

The xlr looked real narrow, and the 18 by 8's in the rear were painfull to view. I just hope the price tag on the c6 won't jump too high.

Sounds great if its true! Does that mean we're going to have larger bore aluminum LS1 blocks available from GM soon for a good price?

the Envoy/Trailblazers are having an all alum 5.3L comming up soon, so who knows what GM might say...if they can work on the fuel economy of the the 5.3 and 6.0L truck motors, then they will be a viable replacement...

And i doubt the C6s prices will go up that much. Hell, as long as they dont get into the ZR-1 price range, everything should be good lol

as long as it doesnt look like that one Road & Track, or Car & Driver had "modeled" up about a year or so ago, then it'll be alright

I can do w/o flip lights, as long as they're styled good. But the thing has to have quad lights...come on, how else will everyone know its a vette they just got beat by
