Corvette question (c5)
he said the c5 corvettes have a transaxle (transmission connected to the rear end) and the drive train is transferred to the transaxle via a "torque tube". which he described as a tube that bolted unto the flywheel and acted as a driveshaft to turn the input shaft on the transmission. This made absolutely no sense to me, and i was very tempted to call him an idiot. but, i cant afford to loose my job right now.
can anyone confirm/deny this for me? it makes no sense to me and seems like if it was setup this way, drivetrain hp loss would be overwhelming...
More info can be had by reading through Dope's great writeup at http://fear.net/~dope/c5_clutch_install_pics.html. Good thing you didn't call him an idot...
A good way to test this is look at the RWHP numbers on the 2004 Z06 corvettes. Engine HP was +-1 hp in random factory testing.
I have a ZO6 which is 53/47. Alot of guys move that bettery to the rear hehe! Trending Topics
