Default want to cam my 'vette, have questions

What all would be involved in caming my stock 99 vette. M6, I'm thinking:

f13
ls6 intake
and upgraded heads

would I need anything else?

while the crank pulley is off, you might as well put on an underdrive. what are the specs on the cam? i also have a 99 a4, in the process of being cammed. do you already have headers and an x-pipe?

I have no mods, other than a K&N air filter (I understand that's hardly a mod). But I'm thinking I wanna just start big. Do I need to upgrade the headers in order to cam it?

dont bother w/ the manifold, its not worth the 10hp unless thats the last thing to do, dont get heads w/out a good flowing exhaust system first, and that cam seems a little on the large side for a stock engine, although it probably will respond well you will also want to get chromoly pushrods and a good set of valvesprings, change the timing chain while you've got the cover off, put that extra money from the heads into making the drivetrain solid before you give the car more power.....

I think you should do all the supporting mods before the cam itself. Do the exhaust and all the boltons. Also I would have to say definately get the Ls6 intake or the Fast if you have the $. Especially with a cam around that size you will gain alot with the better intake. The prior LS6 intakes really choke off the power up top. Plus you could rev up to 6800 if you wanted, so It's important to get a good intake on that thing. I've seen a car make almost 30hp peak just by swapping to an Ls6 intake on a similar size cam.

When getting the timing chain the Ls2 chain is cheap and it works. I would recommend getting the 112LSA cam as well, unless you plan on going FI later.

Wait on the heads and use the money for all the other stuff you need. Don't forget, you will need a good tune too.
