Default 2006 C6 Z06 Hard Top

Why didnt GM keep the hard top for the new Z06.
I did get to speak with some GM reps and gave them my 0.02.
They said alot of people asked the same thing and they would be supprized if GM didnt come out with a hard top model in the years to come.

I got this photo from Z06V.

That would be a nice one for the Blue Devil.

That looks really good.........I bet it would have saved some more weight too, giving even better overall times.

The hatchback has better aerodynamics, not to mention it looks better.

I am actually glad the new Z06 doesn't have it. In the C5 coupe, the bar that supports the roof sits further back than in the C5 Z06 thanks to the targa. I cannot wear a helmet in my current Z06 because my head hits the bar as it is (too tall). I'm looking forward to 2007 where I will actually be able to track my car. If I decide to keep this one, I would have to get a custom seat that sat lower so I would have more headroom. I like the looks of the notchback, but for me it's a question of practicality.

I thought the coupes looked better at first.........that's why I bought one, but now I like the hard tops better. Isn't fucked up how that works.

I think the look's of the C6 class top is better than the C5 glass top. I think an FRC verson would have been a nice option for the C6.

I personally prefer the Coupe bodylines... the fixed roof looks kind of goofy to me on a C6.

i think that the C5 ZO6's should have came as targas also. that in my opinion is the only thing its missing from being the "perfect looking" corvette.

FRC looks 100x more exotic that the Coupe. Way to many hatchbacks running around....but choosing betwen a Targa and a roof you could never take off would be a tough choice, even if the FRC looks so much sexier.
