Some of my freinds have them on their C5s cant cant hook to save their life.
Mainly its because of the stiff sidewall and the compound of the tire.
Ive got nitto 335s on the back and they hook well.

Yea what everyone else has said... they have some advantages but are for the most part not really worth the money. They are loud, expensive, and provide for poor handling. When mine wear out they are geting replaced w/ non-runflats... just my $.02

I switched from run flats on my 98 vette a few months after I got it back in 2001. Agree with others, lower noise, better ride (sidewalls less stiff) and better performance. Just put a can of the fix a flat and 12 volt air pump in trunk - never had to use and - knock on wood - hope never will (that fix flat goop reportedly ruins tire pressure sensors inside).
I drive my car - have put over 60K miles on it, replaced run-craps at ~30K miles, wore out a set of Mitchelin Pilot Sport A/S (non run flat), Kuhmo MX's (rears only
, and on Toyo Proxy T-1's currently.
