Exact same situation couple of months ago...Hands down the C5 Z...Put the money you're going to save (vs the cost of a C6) and put it towards the mods, (or just leave it mostly stock...you'll lllllluuuuuuvvvvv the performance!

I'll be the only dissident and say get a C6. It's a newer car and will most likely still have a warranty if you buy used. It might not perform quite as well as a C5 Z06 but if you mod down the road I think the LS2 will have more potential. Oh, and you can take the top off which is one of my favorite things about the coupe. It also has more luggage space for those road trips plus HID. As for the looks of the C6...
