Default 02 Z06 Interested in Nitrous

I'm thinking about putting in a small wet system in my car. I have a warranty from Carmax on the car still. I want the system to be able to be removed where nobody will know it was ever there if I blow it up. (please don't critque my morals, I don't care) How big of a shot is good to run on a stock Z06? Is there a way to hide the system? How about an installation where it can be removed and you'd never know it was ever there?

I've ran 12.7s at LACR bone stock with a 2.1 60ft. I'm hoping that with a 75-100shot on drag radials I can get down into the 1.8~ and get into the 11s. Think it's possible? My current tires are some 280 Treadware proxies, they kinda suck for drag but they turn well. I assume with just Drag radials i'd probably be able to get the car into the 12.4~ range the way it sits now.

Also, I've heard of people messing stuff up hitting the limitor on a unit. How can you stop that?

Avoiding damaging the engine hitting the limitor on the unit. Not avoiding the limitor at all...

You really can't go wrong with a 100 shot, that is what I run. Mine is a wet shot via NOS plate.
There are a lot of options out there from many great companies just pick somthing you like and go with it.

I'm running 150 wetshot and ran 11.3@126 with street tires, my other mods are LT headers and CAI.

The wetshot is bit of challenge to hide all the solenoids but it is doable with some effort.

If you are only going to go with 100 shot, then you might want to look into dryshot. With a dry shot, it is very easy to hide all the nitrous components, hell of lot easier than wetshot.

it took me plent of hours to get my nitrous in the vette but if carmax had a guy on the way i would be able to remove everything in 5-8 minutes. i too have a carmax warranty(ahahahahaha) but dont think ill ever use it... nope wait i lied my doors stick real bad when opened and i thing the hinges are damaged. only downside is there is no carmax in hawaii so ill have to take it to the local overpriced chevy dealership.

How big of a dry shot can you run? I never quite understood how the computer would quickly raise the fuel enough to not lean it out like crazy. How safe is it?

I'm running at a 2800ft track, which is never prepped, on some Toyo 280 treadwear tires. My best run is a 12.7@111.8mph with a 2.1 60ft.

I hope an extra 100hp would get me into the 11s but I’m not sure. I can only run the fast times power shifting right at redline, from what I understand nitrous is really bad to hit the rev limiter, so I wouldn’t want to shift like that unless it wouldn’t damage it on the limiter.

It is actually very safe, in fact the safest way to go is a dry shot... no fuel puddles in the intake.... the maf picks up the extra air flow..... that is why the dry shot is pre maf.... and a dry shot can be removed in about 20 mins, However anything bigger than that you have to go wet shot which is more complicated and could be removed in about 45 mins if setup that way... like buying another airbridge and dirlling a hole in that one instead of the stocker and just swap them put when necessary.

Also if you install a window switch which you would be a moron not to, it is impossible to spray through the red line it allows you to select the rpm that you start to spray and the rpm that you stop spraying

Okay, yeah, I was thinking a window switch would be good (we supra folks use a window till 4,500 or so just to spool the turbo) So I could make a window till 6,400 or so so i'd be sure not to be able to spray into redline. So like a 75 dry shot would work well?

Nitto dr should easily put u in the 1.6x range with proper technique and a good burnout. It will take some practice to figure this out. Bfg's and mt et street radials will be more consistent and 1.5x range. At 500 rwhp your good for 10's easily, again, with some practice/seat time and good air.

absolutely.... I agree, AND BTW you dont need to make a window switch... MSD sells them with the pills for a reasonable price
