Default c5 shifter

I need to put a short throw shifter in my car. What do you guys recommend....B&M....Hurst....Kirban??

yeah, most people have b&m's or hursts. it all depends on what you like.

I've heard great things on the Hurst so I plan on going that route over the winter.

A lot of Hurst owners on CF have ended up switching to the MTI Racing shifter. It's very good although it's backlogged.

May want to also consider a BPP shifter. Allows you to adjust position for comfort. I've also tried a BM and liked it as well.

I had a B&M which absolutely sucks if you race the car. MTI in houston told me they just cut down the stock shifter in all their cars. I disliked mine so much, I traded someone straight up for their stock shifter. I cut it down about 1"-1.25" and I love it!!

Another reason I didn't like mine is on a Z06 there are no rubber bushing on the TQ tube which give a lot of vibration and noise. I have heard they are better for standard C5's. I hated mine!

Another option for you is to put a C6 shifter in. It drives less notchy than most aftermarket shifters IMHO.

Anyone have advice for cutting down a Hurst shifter? I like the shift length but its too damn tall for me.

I chose the HURST, with stiff springs. It's pretty nutz, probably not for everyone but, I wouldn't have it any other way. I have tried B&M,..."I" didn't like it but, to each his own.

I also use the stock shifter ball.
