High mile C6 coupe worth the money??
I was looking at adding a C6 vette to my stable, and I found an 05 copper in color with 4 speed auto, nav, glass top and all the bells and such, Buuuuuut it has SIXTY-THREE THOUSAND MILES! I drove it and it is fast and handled great, but the dealer is convinced that they will only take $36K at the lowest for it. Is that a good midwest price for this car. I would love to pick it up, but man I am going to second guess those miles i know it. I dont even know how a person can drive that much in one year, let alone a vette in the midwest where we have 8 months of winter!! So, does the price sound good for this car, and it would probably be wise to buy a warranty too huh? Also, I looked at the car in great detail, and the exterior is MINT with no front rock chips and scratches, but the interior looked like it was lived in. All the black on the buttons on the various controls are warn off, and there are many carpet and dash imperfections. Basicly, what I am asking is would you buy it?

I think you can do a little better than that, considering you could pick up a brand new '06 coupe 1LT for $41k, maybe less. you may be able to get an '07 for the same price for that matter. I bought the car in my sig one year ago last week for $43k + tax, while new '05's were still on the lot. (the 3LT pkg is every option less navigation)
if you are financing, consider a new car anyways since the banks give lower interest rates on new cars. so figure an '07 for $41k @5% will run 50>100 a month more than an '05 at $36k @ 9%.
why pay that kinda money for something that's got 63K on the clock?
go down the road...................
also, take a look around here>>>C6 Vettes for sale
good luck, and tell us what you do.

What about a quick silver 2002 Z06 with 40K miles for $28,900? Its also immaculate and fast as hell. Stock besides an unknown exhaust kit and a short throw shifter.

Also, does the rear bumper looked painted, or is that mismatch in the paint because the bumper is plastic, and the fender is metal?

I wouldn't be afraid of high mileage cars due to the fact that they would've been driven mostly highway, which is easy on the engine (and trans and rear end for that matter)
But, the main reason for buying a higher mileage car is to save money, and if you can find one for the same price in your area but with lower mileage, then there is no need to buy this 63k car.

#2 It's a GM, very rarely do the bumpers match the rest of the car

the black in the lower section of the rear bumper is a common appearance mod on the silver, red and yellow z06's. i dont know why, but alot of them around here have that done to them. the only one i have seen that doesnt is a friend of mine's '01 silver Z06.
i would say for a '05 36k mile C6 34k is the most i would pay. i put 38k miles on my '04 in the first year, i have 51k on it now and didnt drive it for 11 months while i was saving for the LS2 403ci that i just put in last month.
28k for a '02 Z06 is a great price. '01's around here are going for 24k-30k depending on mileage, that being the only factor. basing this off of several of my friends after riding in my car went and bought Z06's, before the 403.
a great arguement is how low can you get a '06 out the door and how low can you get the financing? got to also remember 6/04 the '05 C6's were released, preorders started in 11/03, when i bought my '04 Z06 for -7500 off msrp.
right now i can get a '06 C6 Z51 for -10,500 off MSRP, a friend of mine is a sales manager at the dealership i bought mine at. At the time he was a salesman and got -7500 off of a '04 Z06 in 11/03.
good luck no matter what you will be happy with a C5 Z06 or a used/new C6.
