Default looking at buying 97 vette

Hi guys, im looking at buying a 97 vette with 40,000 miles on it. I have heard about some of the problems with the 98 ta and camaro ls1's. I was wondering if there are any problems with the 97 vette ls1 being the first year?
thanks, Kyle

Not really and if there were they'd show up by 40K miles. Just do some reading on some common vette problems that show up throughout the years. 97 is any more problematic than 02, 04 etc

If the car has received good care, I'd go for it. It has the return style fuel system which is a plus. Bob

Mine has never given me any problems, until the driveshaft coupler snapped and broke the driveshaft last week!

I've had mine for 7 years and never had a single problem with it. If the car was taken care of then i'd say GO FOR IT!

The only problem my '97 had was the column lock issue, but GM paid for it. Sold it at 51k and was running like a top.
