I've read where a guy ran 10.85 @129 on drag radials in a stock C6 ZO6 but I also read where GM tested one that ran a 10.7.has anyone else seen this article? I thought it was in GM High Tech but haven't been able to find it.

i've not seen the artical but i've seen a video of it floating around.. not a surprise when you consider the power it's making/what it weighs...
my question is what differes with the tranny/IRS in the new Z06 compared to my 98 coupe... 500 is in my future but i worry the drivetrain will give up...

Others have gone 10.7 (and quicker) but those were bolt on (headers, tuning etc.) cars. There's a fast nitrous Z06 out there as well.

I have an acquaintance in Houston that say a friend of his has a new C-6 Z06 with several mods that tried him on some time back. The new Vette has already run below mid tens @ 130s but was no match for his '67 Vette with a healthy 540 in it and special Strange Dana IRS rear end with 3.07 gears & a five speed.. Of course Jim's Corvette has beaten lots of Vipers too. (10.08 @ 140 MPH).

Ranger is still the Fastest Stock C6 ZO6 to date!! 10.85 @ 129+ All he did was bolt on a set of 17" drag radials on some ZR1 take off rims. If you watch his video......the man can drive!!
