That's an awesome gain, you expecting 118-119 traps as you sit right now.... Sweet.

That thing is going to make some power once you do some internal work...large cam, and some rather well flowing heads...

deeeeeep into the 11's....probably 10's....

Sweet numbers Tom!! You should try and see what you can get out of the car with just bolt-ons before going internal. Try an ASP pulley and a ported TB and I bet 400rwhp would be easy!

When I'm out of school, I'll definitely be getting a Z06 and turn the TA into weekend car.

Can u test the headers with cats? I'm guessing the gain from the headers would be halfed. I know FLP and LG make kits with removable headers but it would be nice to make that kind of power and be emissions friendly. Thank u sharing the results though-keep us informed!

Before u guys do heads-can u please do a cam swap first? A nice emission friendly grind, maybe something like 224/224 .561 on a 114-i'm guessing u'll see over 420 at the wheels.

We are going to make cats/offroads interchangable, but time didnt permit it right now.

I would do a pulley next, that would give me another 4-8, but if I am going to pull the rack, the cam is getting changed.

This is my tenative future horsepower mod list:
-Corsa titanium street
-Ported TB
-160 Stat
I am undecided of the order of the next two
-1.8 or 1.85 Rockers
-RGR LS6 heads
-Cam/pulley if the rockers arent enough

We are doing one thing at a time to document the gains.

Do the cam Tom, I don't think alot of guys are going to go for the rockers-especially with the price and then the enherint valvetrain instability, plus I cannot see alot of gains. Reason i'm so interested in a emmisions legal cam is because if it works for u then u have a buyer right here waiting. Same goes for the headers, i like the stainless works-looks just like the TPIS-i wonder if the random tech pipe will fit up to those as well-maybe u guys can develop a removeable cat setup-u should post this stuff on the z06vette forum-do u ship to Canada?

My goal is to make 430-440RWHP while retaining a stock idle quality.

The new heads will have good springs, so the Comp rockers will be easy enough to swap on/off if they do not produce. On the other non-Z06 C5's we have installed 1.85 rockers on, they all have gained between 18-22 RWHP.

The 1.85 rockers will make the lift .599, and add a bit of duration. On the other hand, I am sure I will want the pulley at some point, and I would probably do the cam at the same time.

Tom, Do the Yella Terra rocker arms. I just picked up a new Z06 the other week and I'm gonna get a set of them but I don't know if I'm going to get the 1.7's or the 1.8's yet.

easily should be 119-121 traps... with the Vararam and Corsa comp Ti i have hit 118 at byron on a DR... i will be more than happy to do some comparisons with you Tom... mine is a very similar setup but a little more on the wild side... if you want to work something out for dyno time for measurements i will be happy to share my results and setups with you for your advertisements... that way you could compare my results with where your wanting to go or not go.. I would also like to get the Cat bypass pipes for my exhaust setup which is identical to yours.. i did pick up a street system with mufflers to quiet mine down but will be happy to provide the comp pieces for you to use if you want to do comparisons.. Just let me know!!!

Tom,

What happened to the a/f after the headers were installed-did the car go rich or lean and by how much? Just wondering because I'm bolting mine on this weekend and won't get a chance to dyno before I hit the track-i'm hoping i can make some small adjustments with my maft. Thanks and keep us posted on the mods-very informative!

It dropped the A/F from 12.8:1 down in the 11.0-11.5:1 area.

Tom did u get a chance to dyno the Corsa yet? I was wondering if the aftermarket stuff offers anything over stock. The Stingers I have sound awesome but sometimes it's a little too much-it's only going to get worse with headers. I think Caretek reported that the borla was worth 2 hp over the titanium setup on a 450 horse x package car. Not worth it-u give that up in weight.

Not yet, I am changing the rotors to our new Sure Stops w/Hawk brake pads along with switching on the Panther wheels.

Hopefully by Monday, we will get it on the dyno with the Corsa street titanium system.

Nice, I just switched from FLP to Stainless Works headers on my car, picking it up tonight. I'm hoping for some decent increase with their headers, and full exhaust.
