Never said Vettes were cheasy. They are bad *** cars. Just like the viper a bit more...

My corvette made me very happy..My viper made me very happy..and the people at gas stations...and the people walking down the road...and people in parking lots..

thats just the differance.

I paid 50K for my 2004 C5 and 40K for my 99 viper. Even with the C5 being 10 grand more expensive and 5 years newer the viper still turned WAYYYY more heads.

You can walk in the room with a brunette who's pretty cute and makes 50 grand a year and has a great personality and dose what you tell her to do..

Or you can walk into the room with a sexy hot fiery red head who makes 70 grand a year and dose what you tell her to if you make her...

That the diff between the vette/viper...I prefer the red head

My vote is for the ACR as I think, like most people on ehre, that the new design is too bland. However, if I were looking to spend 50K+ on a car that I wanted to grab attention id work towards a resto-rod. Something like a 68-69 camaro, and completely restore it with a sick new ls2/lsx based stroker engine. It would def turn heads and would hold its value very well. Plus, a new hood wouldnt cost $17K lol.

Hmmmm...I now drive a 96 Suburban with over 220K miles that wouldn't be worth more than...$1000, and I have a smokin' hot, lightly bronzed, brunette with a little spanish accent who'll do whatever I tell her, whenever I tell her. Makes me wonder what I COULD have if I were driving a viper???? Hmmmmmm

J/K with ya man, couldn't resist!

I love vipers, I'm just not a dodge man myself. Always fond of GM, and (knock on wood) never had one that hasn't gone over 200000miles; and never with major problems...course my old suburban could kick the bucket on my way home tonight for all I know

Sorry to hijack, but Jeenis, how much power are you putting down with the mods on your Z?

Vettes stock don't get as much attention as Vipers....thats why I did the exterior of mine unlike anyone out there. I get alot of attention in my Vette and the only cars that I can't compete with are the spendy ones like my brothers Bentley....I looked at Vipers, and 911's but I really like to have a V8...and to me the SRT-10 coupe is pure sex on wheels...

I just wish the Viper came with a proper stability control....as much as it rains where I live I would have a very hard time buying a 500 hp car without stability control...

Sweet numbers jeenis...

One of the SRT10's im lookin at already has headers and full exhaust...Should be 470-480 rwhp..but the guy wants quite a bit for it ( exactly the limit on what i can spend to be exact)...

Would be nice to buy it though and give stock C6z06's a close run

you can get an 07 with 7k off MSRP, so i'm thinking the 06s might run you low 60s, upper 50s. however, after reading this thread and researching some of these viper prices, i'm seriously considering a second car (well.. fourth if u count the DD and gf's car i bought her)

HMMM I didnt know that you could get 2006 Z06's in the high 50's now...I could swing one but I still prefer the SRT10's just a lil..

and I know what your saying about the SRT10's...

So far I worked deals out on these....

-2003 with 5 k miles and warranty till 2010 shipped to Hawaii for 54K

-2003 with 11 K miles and headers and full ehaust shipped to hawaii for 55k

-2003 with 19K miles and warranty till 2011 shipped to hawaii for 50K

as well theres an 2005 that was reposessed and about to go across the auction block..a dealer who owes me a favor is gonna try and get it for me for under 53k...

so Im waiting for the auctioneers to get the title and see what I can get that one for before I purchase one of the other 3..could be 1-3 weeks though waiting on the title.....

Im still AMAZED that for only 50-55 grand I can get a car that...

-goes 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds
-dose the 1/4 mile in 11.9 at 122 mph
-tops out at 192 mph
-has very limited production of around 1500 per year
-and carries a pretty respected name

I know that 2003 was now 5 model years ago...But Im still happy with what im getting for only aroud 50 grand..

I paid 50 grand for my C5 and got a car that.....

(*manual numbers*)
-did 0-60 in 4.8
-the 1/4 mile in 13.1 at 109
-topspeed of 173
-30 K made per year
-carries respected name

Dont get me wrong I know that the C6z06 is a lil faster...But *to me and me only* the srt10 is a lil more prestigous, meaning that in my mind...

If a Honda Civic ranks as -0-
and a TT saleen ranks as -10-

A c6z06 ranks as a 7.0 and the SRT10 as a 7.2...Thats how close they are to me..Just cant over look the 126 mph trapps man. Thats worth a lot to the vette..But it's kooler saying "Viper" and the srt10 looks just a lil mre exotic and is abit rarer..So that helps the SRT10 and ..

Also when people at my work place look up theprice on wichever car I roll in with ( like they did with my rt10 asking a millin quetios)

they'll look up the SRT10 and see t cost 83K brand new vs the C6z06's 75K brand new...

I know that sounds stupid but they'll be searching SRT10Viper or c6Z06 before Im even fully parked LOL...

So the viper wins that one as well and also lets me choose it over the C6Z06..

Never the less Im about to searhEbay right now and see if these high 50's z06's really exist

Good Luck with the new car. I think you should get a GTS, it is my favorite looking Viper. I just left the corvette world myself.
