BTW, when OP previous sent me what he claimed was a time slip he'd earned, the email addy he used was ynggrl22@...... Not the email address you'd expect from a serious car person with 15 years drag racing experience. I've received thousands of emails from Corvette racers over the past several years. First one with an address like that.

Hard to take any of this seriously. This is the third forum in which the same bogus claim has been posted.

My car was scanned immediately after returning to the pits it's last two record setting passes, in front of multiple witnesses who are long-standing members of several forums. My PCM was/is an exact duplicate of a stock chevy C6Z file byte-for-byte. So I've already passed that test. I ran 11.17 and then 11.13 on the stock tires. The 60' were within the range of that several other driver have achieved.

Readers of the thread who have an interest in how I learned to drive may wish to read part 1 & 2 of my series in Corvette Fever (October and December 2007). Eight compact pages; my history in Corvettes beginning with a stock 427/435 in 1968 and passing through seven more since then. The Personal Record documentation for my three Z06s is laid out
here

From what I heard the car has "filter mod" tune and drag radials. My brother seen your 10.76 run and your relatives told him the car had intake tune and drag radials.

I can tell you this, I have seen and inspected John's Z06 on more than one occassion. When he did his times as stock, it was stock down to the lug nuts and floor mats. When it was stock on drag radials, it was stock from the air filter to the tune to the drag radials. You want to know how the density altitude really effects ET and MPH, John can tell you exactly. I love seeing how he pushes these stock cars to the limits and still achieves great times and stellar consistency.

John is one of the most "up front" guys your going to find around. When everyone else is claiming big numbers and not giving you 100% of the facts, John does it in the exact conditions and setup as described. I can tell you have never met him because IF you ever did you'd understand what kind of methodical/"exact science" type of person he is.

Some people that I have talked to that have never met him seem to think he is an arrogant 6 speed driver that thinks he is better than everyone else. In real life John is far from it, he is a very detailed person with a drive, greater than most of us could only hope for, to push his Z06's to the limit of the his abilities as well as the cars mechanical abilities.

Now you on the other hand, who ever you are... Claim have 15 years of drag racing experience with no "Street Cred" as the young guys call it. You come out of the woodworks with a flash in the night pass that has not been backed up.

Many of the detail oriented guys document the fine details. Spreadsheets to calculate time differential between splits, record tire pressure to 1/2 lb, suspension setup, and density altitude. These guys know the mechanical limits of the car. If someone were to come on and claim to go .05 faster over the 1/4 it definitely could happen but when your some .18 faster @ the 60' mark alone it definitely will raise suspicion that there is an untold portion of the story.

I'd like to hear your perspective on the run, launch RPMs, clutch technique, shift RPM in each gear, ect from that day.

That is what I expected to hear, stellar times and downplayed mods. Typical internet BS.

Correct. 1.50 is the claim, not 1.5s. Cannot happen with a stock clutch even with those mods. In the slip, yours was the car in the right lane, not the left. The splits in the right were generally consistent with a C6Z. Left lane (1.50 4.42) was definitely not a stock clutch C6Z nor one with near stock horsepower.

Bogus.

Could you even get a 1.50 with stock torque management? And what was posted above is what I have heard what was done to his car. I think a 10.76 is good for intake mod drag radials and a tune. I just heard that you have "intake mod" drag radials and tune.

The current record for C6Z with internal-mods, plus power-adders and non-stock clutch, spraying first gear is 1.46 (running in the 9s). The notion that a C6Z on any tire, any track, stock clutch and a slight bump in power via a tune and intake mod pulled a 1.50 60' is a bad joke.

The record for a full internal mods, HC C6Z with aftermarket clutch is a 1.57 60'.

Again stock power cars with a stock clutch and TM removed via a tune but driven by the best drivers is 1.67 max 60'.

A ten percent improvement by a single car in any incremental is bogus. Imagine a stock car making a 10% improvement in trap speed or ET. It would be hooted. Here we have a 10% faster 60' than the best driven cars. And it's faster than cars with 150 more rwhp and aftermarket clutches. Is that credible? Certainly isn't to most of the experienced Corvette racers.
