Just curious how many people haven't shelled out the $100 for a column lock bypass yet, and have you had any issues with your column lock?
I don't have a bypass, and I've never had an issue with my column lock. I do have the recall.

97C5Envy, how often are you in austin?
LS1290, the writeup is in progress. I'm stalled for 2-3 days now as I need to document a few more tools for the page. That part should be done this weekend on a local C5, and once that is done I can finally post the page.

I've had a CLB unit for several years and unfotunately, I get the "pull key, wait ten seconds" message so often that I automatically pull and insert the key twice!
The CLB supplier sent two units and both do this but it's better than getting stranded!

i have not had the CL with any of my C-5s and i think it is caused by drivers pulling on the steering wheel to pull themselves out of the seat. this puts a lot of pressure in the lock pin and could cause it to jam.

Been locked up and stranded twice within 2 weeks, the second time, GM fixed it under the recall campaign, even though my 98 was not within the certain VIN #s on the recall. This occured a few months ago. Since then its been all good.
