Default Oil pump change

I have a question, I did ask this on another forum but did not get answers to my question, maybe better luck on here. Can anyone tell me what thw labor charge would be for just an oil pump change on a C-5. Tampa Fl area? I e-mailed a sponser on that forum 3Xs but did not get a response??????????? The car is a DD and I do not want to have it down for a long time. That's why I'm considering a shop doing it. Yes I know this would be a great time for a cam change but the budget will not allow this at this time.
Thanks

Labor I am guessing in the 4 to 5 hour range. Getting to the pump is fairly complicated: remove the water pump, remove the front steering rack, drop the front craddle, remove the dampener, and remove the front cover. Most shops charge around $100 per hour for labor.

www.ls1howto.com do it yourself its not that difficult, i would suggest impact tools for the crank bolt though.

Nothing is wrong with the pump in the car at this time.
I do not have any impact tools. That ends that.
I once changed the steering rack on my Z-51 84' vette. I still have bad memories of that job.
Now I hear all kinds of horror stories about removing the crank bolt and getting the New one back on and torqued.
I was thinking of having the pump, timing chain, and pully replaced and going with a two piece timing cover so I could get that out of the way. Then, when I am ready, doing a cam change, then heads.

Impact tools are not a must by any means, but they do help some. I have the GM flywheel lock tool. It will make removing and installing the crank bolt must easier. They cost about $100 to buy. If you want to covering shipping both ways, you can use mine for free

No need to drop the front cradle, why would you do that?

Dropping the front cradle has made removing the steering rack a lot easier IMO.
