What's up, fellas?
This is my car that's being built at EPP.
Should be a strong runner. I plan on driving this car on the street a good bit. I'm not one of the corvette dudes that buys his car to park it and preserve the resale value.
Be on the lookout for some vids by mid summer.
I got rid of my 07 because I liked the updates for 08 and I really was never crazy about the Velocity Yellow. My 08 really drives a lot nicer than my 07.
Surprising isn't it? After I spent enough time behind the wheel of my 07, I could really feel it, though. It's running out of breath at 7k. I think the intake manifold is at least partly to blame.
I have already came to an agreement with my dealer on the ZR1 and placed a down payment on the vehicle. However, when I buy it I'm keeping this Z06. With all the work that's going into this thing I'm not selling it in a year.
The biggest issue is the fact that the LS7 block uses 4 bolts/cylinger just like all the production LS blocks. There are ways around it for the right price if you don't want to go with an aftermarket. You can take an LS2 block, put some seriously tough sleeves in it, and certain shops can add the extra bosses for the additional head bolts. I know wheel to wheel does it and I've talked a lot with a guy that has one of their motors in his TT C6Z and it has been very pleased with it.
Sure. You can add head studs and aftermarket head gaskets, etc. I just wanted even more reliability, which is why I bought the warhawk block.
But I didn't want an older fast car. I wanted a new Z06 with a procharger.

Did you consider the even stronger Chevrolet LSX block. It can be had in the 9.24" deck height and you should be able to put any amount of boost you needed for any power desired. Once you add a large supercharger or turbocharger to any equation the size of the engine can get too large real quick. One of our shootout guys just built a 427" Ford for his Mustang and it has already run 7.57 @ 192 in the quarter. I'm hearing dyno numbers of over 2000 H.P.

We're waiting on the Beck sheetmetal intake manifold and for the fuel system to arrive. RPM Transmissions is done with the tranny and rear, we'll stop over there this week to pick up all the parts. Bob
