"traded his '07 Z06 for an '08 Z06"...damn, wish I had that kind of money to throw around. I would be more than happy with an old '06 Z06 Anyways, that thing is going to be a monster when it's done (as if it wasn't already)!

We've had a change of plans today. We're going to remove the LS7 engine and we'll have it up for sale. We'll be building a Warhawk engine for it for added durability. Bob

Some people just have to much money.

I look forward to watching the progress on this build.

i heard somthing about the LS7 cyl walls are to thin to withstand any boost, just wondering what ,if any, truth there is to that and if it is an issue than what can be done to avoid future problems?

This is true, which is probably why Bob has decided to put a different motor in it. Also why the ZR-1 is a supercharged LS3 and not a supercharged LS7.

Look forward to seeing the results!

Ill offer 2k shipped for the motor!!!

I have a sweet sand rail frame that would take that motor with ease...

Anything you can do to improve the durability of an LS7 for boost? Or is there nothing that you can do to "bullet proof" one? RT

I feel that we could of made 900 to 1000 rwhp with the LS7 block without any problems. The block may be a little on the weak side, nothing you can do about it but I don't think we would of had any problems with it. Dustin has built a lot of these problems without having any problems.

We'll be looking to get as much money as we can for this LS7 engine to help offset the cost of this build, meaning no one if going to get a gift. Thanks. Bob

I think it's going to be a great build, but think about how fast you could make an older car for that much money. Almost an $80,000 car plus another no telling what. A guy that lives down the road from me has a outlaw car that runs 4.8 in the 1/8th and hes got about $50,000 in it, but i do understand he can't drive it on the street everyday.

so its to my understanding that u are not running boost to an LS7 but u are swaping for a boosted ls3? wouldnt that defeat the purpose of buying a Z06?

Also why the ZR-1 is a supercharged LS3 and not a supercharged LS7.
thanks i know lol just like everyone else who read motor trends last month issue featuring the "all new Zr1"

with that kind of displacement wouldnt u be able to make comparable numbers to a charged LS3 with the right heads and cam on an LS7? im sure it would be a pretty reliable motor in NA form......... again just curious

No, we're not swapping to an LS3 engine. We are building a Warhawk engine for it. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...html?item=1030

What's up, fellas?

This is my car that's being built at EPP.

Should be a strong runner. I plan on driving this car on the street a good bit. I'm not one of the corvette dudes that buys his car to park it and preserve the resale value.

Be on the lookout for some vids by mid summer.

I got rid of my 07 because I liked the updates for 08 and I really was never crazy about the Velocity Yellow. My 08 really drives a lot nicer than my 07.

Surprising isn't it? After I spent enough time behind the wheel of my 07, I could really feel it, though. It's running out of breath at 7k. I think the intake manifold is at least partly to blame.

I have already came to an agreement with my dealer on the ZR1 and placed a down payment on the vehicle. However, when I buy it I'm keeping this Z06. With all the work that's going into this thing I'm not selling it in a year.

The biggest issue is the fact that the LS7 block uses 4 bolts/cylinger just like all the production LS blocks. There are ways around it for the right price if you don't want to go with an aftermarket. You can take an LS2 block, put some seriously tough sleeves in it, and certain shops can add the extra bosses for the additional head bolts. I know wheel to wheel does it and I've talked a lot with a guy that has one of their motors in his TT C6Z and it has been very pleased with it.

Sure. You can add head studs and aftermarket head gaskets, etc. I just wanted even more reliability, which is why I bought the warhawk block.

But I didn't want an older fast car. I wanted a new Z06 with a procharger.
