New 07Z06 Vs. New 08Z06
In your opinion, is the new tranny, the faux carbon fiber, and the wait of another few weeks worth the slight increased price of the 08?
I appreciate any thoughts guys!

I had an 07 Z06 and now I have an 08 Z06.
The improvements made for 08 are immediately noticeable and worth the extra money if you ask me, and I've had them both.
The 08 transmission operates so much smoother than the 07. It drops into all gears effortlessly while the 07 transmission shifts were pretty notchy feeling. Also, the 08 has a shorter throw shifter than the 07 which is nice.
The steering also is improved on the 08 and has much better feel.
The T6060 has a few upgrades:
Stronger gears to increase torque capacity
One piece countershaft
Stronger housing
Triple synchros on 1-2 and 3-4 gear changes with double synchros on all remaining gears (T56 offers double synchros on 1-2 and 3-4 and single synchros on all remaining gears)
Double cone reverse gear synchro
32 spline output shaft
There are other changes as well. RPM transmission told me that the T6060 in the Z06 is sufficiently strong for 1000 hp.
The biggest change that you will probably notice is the updated reverse synchronizers. From idle you can put the clutch pedal down and the transmission shifts right into reverse just as easily as it goes into 1st...no more increased effort/weirdness when you go to put the car in reverse like my past 6 T56 equipped cars all had.
Also, when the car is cold, the T56 transmission cars kinda go clunkity-clunk into 2nd gear until the transmission warms up a bit. If you've had one that did that then you know exactly what I'm talking about. My 08 doesn't do that either, but some have reported that theirs still does it.
The only real drawback that I see is that the T6060 is heavier than the T56.

Same thing last year when the 07 cars were out, and everyone was whining about low dyno numbers compared to the 06 model. Probably happens because people put the car on the dyno when it's brand new and everything isn't broken in just yet.
This year it's the same thing. My 08 made 434 rwhp on a mustang dyno with less than 500 miles on it.
Now, there have been a two or three reports of stock 08 cars coming in at under 400 rwhp, which is a problem. All these cars were running extremely rich on the dyno...like 10:1 so, yes, something weird was going on with those cars, but it certainly isn't the norm.
I'm not really too big into dyno numbers anyway, though.

If that dealer doesn't cut the price straight down to the invioce to put an "X" on the board he's not worth even looking at.

The sales of cars (especially Corvettes) have fallen dramatically over the last two weeks. It's DEAD.... I'm serious guys, the economy is so f#cked it's not funny.
Invoice or nothing.... and if they don't, then simply call any one of the large volume places around the country and ask for the internet department, they'll get with the program REAL QUICK.
Knowledge is power.... I just gave you the best knowledge possible.
I have 1800 miles on my C6Z. It is a nice car over all.

Put in 1 week for time and Z06 for model and any relevant options. Works pretty good. Once you see a dealer that has your color & mods, google them and check out their site.
2LZ. All black interior. Nasty
THanks for the input guys. As soon as I can, I'll post some pics.
