If I SHIFT really LAZY,..(like not trying to race anyone)...it'll fall off a tad to where it's still pulling but,..give it a literal second, and it's right back to making alot of power/pulling.

But, if I shift quickly, it still blisters the tires off the car,..even drag radials. So, I personally have no problem with keeping the 2.73 in my car forever at the moment. Maybe, MAYBE i'd try a 3.08 or 3.15 tjust to see but, I really like this gear right about now.

Also, it's good to know that my camshaft is more of an MID to UPPER rpm performaing camshaft soo, which is designed for a 3.73 or so gear....so, the car, given a "proper" turbo camshaft, could probably get the car to perform better down low but, honestly, I have a two piece cam door,...and I don't see myself changing camshafts on this setup anytime soon.

That's all good. I went with a 416 FI built motor with a turbo cam. The car is coming along. The body work and paint is almost done . Need to get the headlight parts from SW (Specter Werkes) and finish up a few accent stripes and the body will be complete.

I'll be able to order up the rims and wheels from CCW, now that I can get the back space measurements that John neeeds.

Then it's on to finishing up all of the electrical rewiring items and sorting things out before moving on to the finally, the drivetrain and motor combo.

Here's a couple of recent pictures for ya.

Car looks sick!
Really digging the yellow accents, especially the rear splitter.

Thanks, it's been a long project. Just need the headlights and to finish up a couple of the yellow accents to wrap up the body work.

The vette started it's life as a 2001 Coupe/ w auto tranny, it now is a Hardtop with six speed and way too many mods to list.

BADASS

Truly a badass looking ride man. It's how I would do the body, if I could. Truly dig it. Can't wait to see it with the wheels. Which, are you going with, like a mesh or 5-6-multi spoke?

Truly digging the body.

Going to go with CCW C12's in either brushed or argent silver. They are multi-spokes.

Thanks for the props, it'd been quite the project. the vette use to be a coupe and now it's a hardtop, plus swapped from auto to six-speed.

You deserve a bottle of crown bro.

I can appreciate the work involved in a project like that. I can't even think about how many times I have had my entire driveline out of the car. Everything takes so much time, it seems to never end.

Also, not sure which tire your going to run but, I highly suggest the TOYO RA1

Best tire i've ever used.

Thanks for the props. It takes a lot of effort and determination to do these projects as you know first hand from your own experience in doing these type of modifications to your car.

Hopefully, I've avoided the pitfalls that some others before me have fallen into and don't go crazy trying to make some ridiculous HP numbers that will make the car unreliable.

What, like making 780 rwhp on a stock bottom end, with a stock tranny and clutch behind it?!?!?!

LOL!

I got the drive line covered as long as I don't launch the car or get wheel hop.

RPM Stage 5 Tranny w/mainshaft, DTE Stage 5 rear and brace along with Z06 TT and Textralia Twin Clutch.

Just want the car to be controllable and predictable.

I've always loved cars, maybe because I don't have to work on them every day and deal with the pressure of getting the job done under a lot of pressure.

Kudos to you for all of your hard work, even after putting in a tough day at the shop.

I built the drive train up because of my swap from auto to six-speed, trying to save myself from the aggravation of having to pull the drive train multiple times, however that was not to be. I got a bad remote bleeder from LAPD that leaked like a bad faucet and had to be replaced.

Now, that I put a (4) post in the garage it won't be so bad.

Most guys don't build the drive train because they didn't need to pull the drive train to do the motor mods and can hold off, I did it azz backwards when I did the swap.

lol, you probably did it right, prep the drivetrain, prep the suspension, build/install the motor/setup. Thats probably the right way brother man.

About to go buy my battery on off switch so I can be legal at the track.

peace out.

I really wasn't that clever it just ended up that way when I did the conversion from auto to six-speed. The body work project took a lot longer than I ever planned but it ended up coming out beyond my expectations so all in all I'm really happy.

I'll take mine to the track once just to see how she'll do but that's it, I don't want a track car with cage and allof the other safety equipment. I'll probably throw in blow proof housing on the clutch as I like my feet and an extinguister and harness belts, but that's it.

Can't wait to see your number at the track.

Highly recommend the bellhousing or a blanket. Well worth it. Just bought to catch cans with breathers and NA fittings, with all the startlite line that I need. Also bought the kill switch yeaterday,...which I am stoked about. So, valve covers now need to get modifed to except the breather hoses,..find a place to mount the catch cans,...add a new larger oil return line to my drivers side turbo, as that side smokes a bit,..possibly due to the hose drain angle.

So, I have some things to do this week. It is POSSIBLE the car might go into a booth at PRI in a couple of weeks so,..if thats true, I have alot of work to do by then.

Alot.

But, I think the car, fuel system or not, is damm near ready for the drag strip. I want to go tens on a street tire, and a shitty launch.

Sounds like you're getting close to wrapping things up on your build. I don't think you need all of the bells and whistle on the drive train for doing street pulls as long as you don't launch the car hard.

I was just starting from scratch so it wasn't as expensive as I had no money into hardend axles, packs, etc ... My car is way over built for it's current power level.

I'm just going to bring it home in March 2009 and knock off the interior and all of the re-wiring, suspension (coil overs, poly bushing and ball joints) then I'm going to install the motor and go NA for season just to get everything broke in and all the kinks worked out before moving on to a FI system.

I really would like to get a ride in the various FI pacakges to see which one suits me best before taking the plunge.

Good luck at getting your car into the PRI show. What week is that show this year ?

Oh well, I won't make PRI this year as I'll be in Boston that week.

I'm not sure about the routing of your pipes, but the T-1 Bars are big. I run the Pfatty's set-up myself. I sent ya PM about the poly mounts.

I too would like to give the standing mile a shot but you have to have a bunch of safety stuff to run any kind of speed and I don't want to hack up my car for just a passing fancy, that I would only due once.
